Mockery of Charlie Kirk resulted in a DJ’s ban from a New York bar, but in a way that proved “The left eat their own.”
It’s been nearly a year since the father, husband, and Christian patriot was gunned down while exercising his First Amendment right, but the appetite for some deviants reveling in the tragedy remains unsated. Be that as it may, time and place remained a decorum dictated by the perpetual victims, meaning even a meme song about the Turning Point USA founder played “in jest” was considered a cancelable offense.
Such was the case over the weekend at Buffalo, New York’s decades-old live music venue, Nietzsche’s — self-described as “truly legendary” — when a DJ earned a ban for trolling the crowd with the AI-generated song “We Are Charlie Kirk.”
Crafted in the style of a damage control press release, Nietzsche’s began, “We want to apologize for a moment that occurred during a show at Nietzsche’s last weekend, involving a ‘We Are Charlie Kirk’ meme that we just became aware of via social media.”
“After speaking with the artist and promoter, we understand it was intended in jest, but it’s not something that has any place at Nietzsche’s,” continued the post.

“We want to reaffirm that Nietzsche’s is, has been, and always will be a place of acceptance, respect, and community. We recognize that this moment did not reflect those values, and we sincerely apologize to anyone who was made to feel unwelcome or hurt,” continued the same venue that boasts of a “welcoming reputation” while showing a paid entertainer the door. “The DJ who included the content will not be performing at the club again. We appreciate everyone who brought this to our attention and will continue working to ensure Nietzsche’s remains a welcoming space for all.”
Lyrics of the song widely credited to Spalexma include, “He spoke the truth / When the cost was high / He lived for Jesus / Unafraid to die.”
“We are Charlie Kirk / We carry flame / We’ll fight for the Gospel / We’ll honor his name,” the song goes on.
Notably, the venue that routinely hosts drag events also saw fit to turn off the comments on the post appearing on both Facebook and Instagram.
While Nietzsche’s remained mum on who the DJ was that melted snowflakes, Finnuh, who performed on Saturday, July 25, had previously posted to social media, “Maybe ai music isn’t ALL bad. I mean without it we wouldn’t have WE ARE CHARLIE KIIIIIRK …”

Regardless of who was behind the use of the meme song, it remained that the crowd claiming inclusion demonstrated once again that they define what that means.
