A roadtrip gone awry saw Don Lemon laughed off as he pushed back on responses he didn’t like pitting Vice President Kamala Harris against former President Donald Trump.
“I know you feel that way, but that’s not actually what the record shows.”
The former CNN anchor and short-lived X host joined the Democratic pilgrimage to Chicago ahead of the nominating convention. On the way, an attempt to tap the pulse of voters via man on the street interviews landed Lemon at odds with reality as talking points couldn’t dissuade public opinion.
“Hey Jersey…Trump or Harris?” he captioned a clipped together video posted to X Saturday that had since garnered over 1.6 million views.
“Four years ago it was a lot better. I made a lot more money than I do now,” one man could be heard telling Lemon on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey in an interaction he was willing to air.
“I know you feel that way, but that’s not actually what the record shows. The economy is actually better under Biden,” Lemon replied prompting laughter from the man as he insisted, “No, I’m serious.”

The respondent fired off a question of his own asking, “Do you watch CNN?” setting Lemon on the defensive as he insisted, “No, no. That’s not because I watch CNN.”
That wasn’t the only time his Biden-Harris/Harris-Walz/corporate media inspired claims got brushed aside as a woman explained to him, “Well, I want Donald Trump. I just feel we need somebody that has a stronger background with the military and the world in general.”
In response, Lemon rattled off a quick summary of Harris falling upward as though that were an argument saying, “She was a prosecutor, and an attorney general, and a senator and vice president.”
Part of their interaction not shared on X had been posted to the commentator’s TikTok account where his “stats” argument about the economy what met with a definitive, “Bullsh*t.”

“Trump look like he got it in the bag right now,” said one man who admitted he supported the Democratic Party as another announced, “Trump for the win.”
“Tell me why,” Lemon insisted as the man offered, “I can’t really call that right now. But, I just feel like she’s not good for president. She’s good vice president, but not for the actual lead role for the country.”
“Does it have anything to do with being a woman?” he wondered, attempting to tease out another failed narrative only to be told, “No.”
While one person he spoke with called out how illegal aliens were seen entering the country from the water in San Diego and how the Biden administration was even responsible for flying tens of thousands in, Lemon found himself confronting another who favored Harris to win despite his support for Trump.
“Why don’t you like Harris?” came the question ahead of the offered answer, “Oh, she don’t have any experience.”
After the failed face-to-face gaslighting, social media users added to the reality check for Lemon and his approach that was summed up, “‘The statistics say you’re wrong about your personal finances’ is a hell of a way to converse with people, Don.”

Imagine how stupid you have to be to tell people in this economy, when people can’t afford basic necessities let alone to buy a house, that the economy is better now than four years ago.

The most important thing that needs to be pointed out is… he had editing on his side and this is as good as he could get it too.
