Donald Trump Jr. took the stand in the $250 million fraud civil fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James against his father, firing off several jokes as he defended himself.
During his 75-minute testimony in Arthur Engoron’s Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday, the former president’s son answered questions about his role in working on the financial statements in which James alleges Trump inflated the value of his assets to scam banks and insurance companies.

“I did not,” Trump Jr. said when he was asked whether he had ever worked on the real estate mogul’s “statement of financial condition” that are at the center of James’ case. “The accountants worked on it, that’s what we pay them for,” saying that he had “no understanding” of accounting lingo,” according to the New York Post.
“I rely on professionals and CPAs. We pay millions of dollars and [they] have great degrees,” he said, cracking up the gallery.
There was also an exchange with Engoron and AG attorney Colleen Faherty over the correct pronunciation of “revocable” when she asked him about the “Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust.”
“Now that we finally have a trustee in the courtroom, we can finally ask if it is revocable or revocable,” Engoron said.
“Your honor, it’s a good question, but I’m not sure which is actually correct,” Trump Jr. responded, adding,
A question was then asked by Faherty using the pronunciation of revocable, drawing a response from Trump that “I’m not sure what that is, I only understand revocable,” cracking up the courtroom gallery.
During the testimony, the judge asked Trump and Faherty to slow down so that the stenographer could keep up with their back and forth.
“I apologize, Your Honor, I moved to Florida but I kept the New York pace,” Trump joked to which Engoron replied, “We noticed.”
During his appearance, Don Jr. also quipped “I should have worn makeup” for the trial that is merely an appetizer for the main course of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s case against his father in a Washington D.C. courtroom before a hostile partisan judge on trumped-up charges related to the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021.

The elder Trump kicked off the day with another blistering of Engoron on Truth Social.
“Judge Engoron is a political hack who ruled against me before the trial even started. He is doing the dirty work for the Democrat Party. I was not even given the option of a jury, This Rigged Case should have never been brought, but since it was, it should have been in the Commercial Division, but Engoron WOULD NOT LET GO OF IT. He fought us, sanctioned us for no reason, fined us big money, never gave us even a one day delay,” he wrote.

“This is his big chance, and he was not going to let it go. In the meantime, they ‘lost’ their Star Witness, and my Financial Statements are GREAT! There was no fraud, so they are working with the corrupt A.G. whose campaign was “I will get Trump,” to develop something, anything. They even go back to 2014, past the Statute of Limitations, to look at a ‘low ball’ offer I made for the Buffalo Bills. Someone else offered much more, so what? Now they come up with something called “disgorgement.” I never even heard of the term. WITCH HUNT!!! ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!” Trump said.
The trial dragged on through its fifth week and is expected to last until December.
