“Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy seems to believe that former President Trump or somebody on his team intentionally leaked the audio where he allegedly admitted that classified documents were in his possession in order to exonerate himself.

Doocy made the suggestion Tuesday as the panel discussed the newly-released audio of Trump from 2021, where he appears to have spoken about “secret” documents he admitted that he no longer had the power to declassify. The co-hosts compared the audio to Trump’s interview with Fox News host Bret Baier last week, where he seemed to contradict what he said in the audio recording.

After the audio was released, Trump slammed the leak on Truth Social. But he also said that it was “actually an exoneration” instead of an incrimination.

“Regarding the leaking of this particular tape… Trump posted on Truth Social ‘The deranged special prosecutor Jack Smith, working in conjunction with the DOJ and FBI illegally leaked and spun a tape and transcript of me which is actually an exoneration.’ You know what? If Trump thinks [the tape] is an exoneration of him, perhaps somebody on his side actually did the leaking to CNN and Maggie Haberman,” Doocy suggested to his co-hosts.

“That makes sense,” agreed co-host Brian Kilmeade. “There’s a story that [former Joint Chief Gen. Mark] Milley after the president lost the election, was telling confidants he’s worried Donald Trump is going to start a war with Iran. And Trump reads this and says, wait, you’re the one who wanted to start a war with Iran. I never started a war with Iran. And hence, this conversation.”

“It does, actually,” Doocy contended, adding, “he’s admitting he’s got classified documents.”

Kilmeade went on to posit that “clearly, Mark Meadows has flipped. He has disappeared as chief of staff. He knows everything. And he seems to be in control of these tapes, you would think, or his biographer does in a book that nobody read.”

“Trump’s lawyers actually knew about this tape since March when one of Trump’s aides, a woman by the name of Margo Martin, was asked about it before an appearance before the grand jury, and then the government subpoenaed her copy of the tape. So the tapes are floating around on the Trump side,” Doocy pointed out.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper couldn’t wait to report on the leaked audio, “We have obtained what is expected to be a central piece of the government’s case against Donald Trump, the actual audio recording of the former president talking as if he’s showing a highly classified document on US war plans against Iran with people not cleared to even know it exists, let alone what’s in it…”

“The recording was made two summers ago, in July 2021 at the former president’s club in Bedminster, New Jersey. You will clearly hear the former president, as he is speaking to several people. According to the special council’s indictment, they include a writer working on Mark Meadows’ memoir, the publisher, and two of Trump’s staff members. The president was aware he was being recorded. It is the first time it is being played publicly,” Cooper continued.

Cooper then played the recording which seems very much open to interpretation, where Trump commented, “With Milley, let me see that. I’ll show you an example. He said that I wanted to attack Iran. Isn’t it amazing? I have a big pile of papers, this thing just came up. Look.”

“This was him. They presented me this. This is off the record, but they presented me this. This was him. This was the Defense Department and him,” Trump said on the audio.

Trump reportedly told those he was talking to that the documents contained “all sorts of stuff, pages long, look. This totally wins my case, you know. Except it is, like, highly confidential, secret.”

“This is secret information. But look, look at this,” he repeated, as laughter could be heard in the background.

One of Trump’s staffers remarked that “Hillary would print that out all the time, you know,” to which Trump responded, “No, she’d send it to Anthony Weiner. The pervert.”

Notice how hard it is to find the written transcript of the Trump audio tape about classified documents.

The press is trying to strip out the context by summarizing the recording for the audience.

The context is the Military Industrial Complex trying to take out Trump.

“These are the papers. This was done by the military and given to me,” he stated, adding, “See, as president I could have declassified it. Now I can’t, you know, but this is still a secret.”

He concluded by saying, “Hey, bring some, uh, bring some Cokes in please.”

Trump has pleaded not guilty to 37 counts related to his retention of government documents, including wilful retention of national defense information and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
