Elon Musk revs up CPAC crowd with giant chainsaw, but it’s not just any chainsaw!

Elon Musk revved up the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) when he brandished a chainsaw onstage, a perfectly symbolic moment of the efforts to dramatically downsize the federal bureaucracy by eliminating waste and fraud.

The Tesla/SpaceX CEO has the swamp and its entitled denizens living in a state of terror as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team has already saved taxpayers tens of billions of dollars by slashing jobs and unnecessary programs during the first month of the Trump administration in what could be described as the Washington, D.C. chainsaw massacre.

This year’s edition of CPAC has the new American conservatism in full ascendancy with the world’s richest man being a powerful ally of President Donald J. Trump, a force multiplier for the MAGA movement.

Dressed fully in black and wearing a black “Make America Great Again” cap and sunglasses, the DOGE boss told the cheering crowd in National Harbor, MD that “This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy.”

Musk’s new toy was a gift from Argentine President Javier Milei who has frequently wielded a chainsaw as a symbol of his own political movement that has targeted rampant corruption in the Latin American nation.

Not surprisingly, the chainsaw got plenty of attention from X users.

After displaying the chainsaw, Musk sat down with Newsmax host Rob Schmitt for a wide-ranging interview during which he remarked on the “DOGE dividend” checks that could be forthcoming to Americans from the savings.

“It’s money that’s taken away from things that are destructive to the country and from organizations that hate you,” Musk said. “I mean, that’s glorious. That’s like the spoils of battle, you know?”
