‘End of empire stuff’: Investigation into viral sex tape filmed in Congress dropped with no charges

The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) have decided to not press charges over the sex tape filmed inside the Hart Senate Office Building, claiming there is no evidence of a crime being committed.

The Daily Caller first uncovered the video of the pornographic event that was recorded on the morning of Wednesday, December 13.

“For now, we are closing the investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding a sex video that was recorded inside the Hart Senate Office Building on the morning of Wednesday, December 13. After consulting with federal and local prosecutors, as well as doing a comprehensive investigation and review of possible charges, it was determined that – despite a likely violation of Congressional policy – there is currently no evidence that a crime was committed,” the USCP contended in a statement that was given to Fox News.

“Although the hearing room was not open to the public at the time, the Congressional staffer involved had access to the room. The two people of interest were not cooperative, nor were the elements of any of the possible crimes met,” the Capitol Police added.

“The Congressional staffer, who has since resigned from his job, exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent and refused to talk to us,” the Capitol Police stated. “Our investigators are willing to review new evidence should any come to light.”

In other words, since the individuals involved in the scandal are unwilling to talk with the Capitol Police, there’s nothing they can do.

The Daily Caller noted that the footage was leaked in a chat and was “shared in a private group for gay men in politics.”

A staff member for Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) was fired over the incident. He reportedly did not resign.

“I was angry. I was disappointed,” Cardin told Fox News in an interview in December following the incident. “It’s a breach of trust.”

Cardin refused to name the staffer involved. He called it a “personnel issue.”

The Democratic Senator said he was not aware of any further disciplinary issues against the staffer and hadn’t spoken to him since the firing,” Fox News wrote.

“Room 216 in the Hart Senate Office Building is a storied hearing room. The dais where the graphic video was filmed is a place from which U.S. senators have grilled high-profile presidential nominees, including those who would go on to become justices of the Supreme Court,” the media outlet pointed out.

It should be noted that while the Capitol Police are not pressing charges over the gay porn video recorded in the Senate, the Left has no compunction about jailing six pro-life activists for merely praying outside an abortion clinic. Each of them could get over ten years in prison for doing so. They could also be forced to pay up to $350,000 apiece.

The Left also has no trouble slapping a veteran with a hate crime charge for lopping off the head of a Satanic Temple statue, despite Catholic statues being defiled for decades. He was originally charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, but that charge has been upgraded.

Gay porn and defiling our hallowed halls of government is evidently acceptable these days. Parading in them, praying, or striking down a statue that honors a demon… that could get you thrown behind bars for years in America now.
