An Illinois mother who has been charged with murdering her two-year-old son was “very invested” in the Lindsay Clancy trial at the time of the incident, which has led some to wonder if there is an epidemic of child killing by disturbed women.
Corie A. Walsh, 40, was found with self-inflicted wounds when police were dispatched to her suburban Frankfort home on Tuesday, where they discovered a horrifying scene of two-year-old Barrett Walsh, who was known as “Bear,” hanging from a rafter in the basement with his mom in the bathtub after a failed apparent suicide attempt.
Illinois woman who was “very interested” in the Lindsay Clancy trial, allegedly hanged her 2 year old child from the rafters in the basement of her $1M home.

According to court documents, “The defendant told officers she did this to her baby because he was ‘the devil’ and the ‘anti-Christ.’
After an investigation, Frankfort Police announced that Walsh was being charged with three counts of first-degree murder and would be sent to the Will County Adult Detention Facility after she received treatment.

The story was shocking enough that such a thing could happen in an affluent Chicago suburb, but all the more so when it was revealed that she was apparently fixated on the Clancy trial, involving a Massachusetts mother who killed her own three young children while suffering from an alleged bout of postpartum psychosis.
According to prosecutors, before allegedly killing her young son, Walsh had “recently become very invested in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial,” they said in a petition to deny the accused’s pretrial release.

“At the time of this occurrence, the jury was still deliberating on the matter. The Clancy trial, involving a mother who had killed her children, was widely covered and discussed in the media and on social media,” prosecutors said in charging documents.
“Corie Walsh had allegedly been ‘actively discussing the case via group text message’ with her friends until 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, three and a half hours ‘before the scene was discovered,” according to prosecutors.

“Very dark times,” LOTT wrote.
The Clancy trial has fixated the nation on the horrific story but also turned over a rock to reveal the deep psychological sickness that exists with millions of women, turning the murdering mom into some sort of bizarre hero and the victim, not her three dead kids.
