Former Attorney General Eric Holder treads a fine line regarding concerns of election interference as he raised the ante on the persecution of former President Donald Trump with a prediction of yet another impeachment.

All-in on the speedy damnation of Trump, the one-time top cop for then-President Barack Obama joined MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki” Sunday to continue the guilty until innocent narrative. While discussing the indictment of the president related to his possession of documents marked classified, Psaki wonder at the AG’s concerns with Trump continuing his campaign in spite.
“Well the notion that you could have a trial, defend it, be convicted, somehow win the election, be sworn in as president, or whenever it happens, that seems inconsistent with our notion of fairness, of the rule of law,” Holder began.
“At that point, I would hope that an impeachment proceeding might be considered — not only considered, brought,” he expressed, “and, ultimately, he would be removed from office.”
“The notion that a convicted felon, convicted felon,” the former Justice Department official reiterated with venom, “would serve as president of the United States is absurd. It’s simply absurd.”
Raising the specter of further indictments related to Jan. 6 and alleged interference in Georgia’s 2020 election process, Holder posited how they could have an impact on the 2024 presidential race without acknowledging the current administration’s role in a banana republic style persecution.
“I’m not a political pundit, but I think at some point, you certainly won’t get beyond, you know the Trump cult base,” he offered, “but for people who are on the fringes of that, the outside of that, are likely to have been negatively impacted by all of these cases brought against the former president.”
“I think that that will have some electoral effect. And so, the likelihood that he’ll be able to survive this and win a general election, I think, is pretty small,” Holder added.
Still early in the race, supporters of the president weighed in on the indictment’s impact on their vote, leading CNN’s Isabel Rosales to state, “Well, it may come as no surprise that the Trump supporters that I spoke with really don’t think too highly of special counsel Jack Smith or this investigation.”
“And if anything, they’re actually doubling down on their support for former President Donald Trump,” she continued to CNN’s Jim Acosta. “They see this indictment as further proof of every level of government and the press, is the way that they see it, are going unfairly after Trump.”

“Doesn’t matter to me. Not at all,” a woman named Sharon Wilder told CNN while a man identified as Daryl Neal stated bluntly, “I think it’s a bunch of bullsh*t…Only thing Trump [has] done is save this country.”
The comments were made outside Trump’s Saturday speech to the Georgia Republican Party where he had remarked, “Every time I fly over a blue state, I get a subpoena. ‘Put him before the grand jury!’ I never thought such a thing could happen in America.”
“They’re not gonna let it stop,” Jill Wilcox told CNN. “They can’t stand the fact that he’s running for president. And I am a Donald Trump fan.”
CNN said that none of the supporters they spoke with had read the indictment and Rosales went on, “These loyalists share a deep sense of distrust against perceived opponents of Trump, including the Department of Justice, the FBI and the press. Supporters routinely brought up President Joe Biden, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.”
“All had sensitive materials in their possession while out of public office. One big difference, Trump and his aide Walt Nauta face nearly a half dozen charges related to obstruction and concealment of documents, including for allegedly suggesting to his lawyers to not cooperate with a grand jury subpoena,” the correspondent added.
