Eric Trump reveals details of how the FBI ransacked Mar-a-Lago, how he told his dad

The Florida residence of former President Donald Trump was raided by the FBI Monday and, with a rundown of alleged offenses committed from the left side of the aisle, the president’s son Eric Trump had a simple question, “Why is it that the political persecution only goes one way in this country?”

Eric joined Fox News host Sean Hannity Monday and reported being the one to notify the president the FBI was conducting a search warrant at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

“I was the guy who got the call this morning and I called my father and let him know that it happened. So I was involved in this all day. Welcome to politics in the 2000s,” he said.

The New York Times reported, according to people familiar with the investigation, that the search “focused on material that Mr. Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago…when he left the White House” and multiple sources stated that the raid was part of an ongoing investigation into the 15 boxes that Trump had turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration in accordance with the Presidential Records Act citing no nefarious intent in holding onto “mementos, gifts, letters from world leaders, and other correspondence.”

Even the Times admitted the search “does not mean prosecutors have determined that Mr. Trump committed a crime.”

“Sean, my father never got so much as a speeding ticket in his life,” the former president’s son told Hannity as he defended the innocence of his father.

“To have 30 FBI agents–actually more than that–descend on Mar-a-Lago, give absolutely, you know, no notice, go through the gates, start ransacking an office,” he went on, “ransacking a closet–you know, they broke into a safe. He didn’t even have anything in the safe. I mean, give me a break.”

The FBI had communicated with Trump’s Secret Service detail and access was granted to the estate without complications, according to CNN. The president’s attorney, Christina Bobb, confirmed that “President Trump and his legal team have been cooperative with FBI and DOJ officials every step of the way. The FBI did conduct an unannounced raid and seized paper,” and CNN noted that “law enforcement personnel appeared to be focused on the area of the club where Trump’s offices and personal quarters are.”

Monday evening, Trump released a statement of his own regarding the matter saying, “These are dark times for our Nation,” and “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”

“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024,” he went on before referencing the ongoing efforts targeted against him in contrast to others like former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 E-mails AFTER they were subpoenaed by Congress. Absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable,” Trump argued. “She even took antique furniture, and other items from the White House.”

Eric took a similar tact by bringing up President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden to show how partisan the Justice Department has been.

“And this is coming from what, the National Archives? Yet, you know, Hunter Biden, he did firearms crimes, prostitution, illegal drugs, shady deals with everybody around the world–and by the way, it’s all on his laptop for the whole world to see–in his own writing, in his own words, corroborated by everybody.”

“Why is it that the political persecution only goes one way in this country?” he asked Hannity.

“This didn’t come from a local FBI field office in Palm Beach, Florida…This came from one place and one building, and that is the White House in Washington, D.C.,” Eric Trump alleged. “They want to attack a guy who they view as his greatest threat, Biden’s greatest threat.”

A senior administration official claimed that Biden was unaware of the search of Mar-a-Lago until the public found out, according to CNN. However, skepticism on that point was rampant.

Trump was not without a strong show of supporters as, even though he was at his residence in New York, crowds began gathering at Mar-a-Lago.

Members of the crowd spoke out with one J.D. Kennon telling Fox News Digital, “As soon as I saw it, I drove here from Tampa. This is nuts. We all know what you’re trying to do, DOJ. You’re trying to create some kind of charge so he’s not going to be able to run for reelection.”

Mike Baffumo told the outlet, “They’re going to do anything they can to get him. They’re terrified of him. And it’s not because of any other reason than the policies that he supports: America First policies.”

“What they’re doing to the president is wrong. They don’t investigate anything else, but they’re going to investigate him when he’s not even here in the dark in his home,” a woman named Ashley told Fox News.
