ESPN has apologized for a poorly received joke by NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers about late-night host Jimmy Kimmel that sparked a major backlash against the “woke” sports network.
During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this week, the Super Bowl winner poked fun at the leftist comic over the impending release of names related to notorious billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, a joke that Kimmel didn’t find to be humorous and threatened to sue.
“Aaron made a dumb and factually inaccurate joke about Jimmy Kimmel. It should never have happened. We all realized that in the moment,” says ESPN senior VP of studio and digital production Mike Foss in comments first reported by Front Office Sports.

“Pat has created a multi-billion dollar company, I don’t think he needs my advice on anything,” Foss said of McAfee in remarks reported by The Washington Post on Friday. “We’ve certainly spoken about the shows this week and the shows beyond. Ultimately, Pat makes his own choices and I trust him to continue to make the right moves.”
The sidelined New York Jets gunslinger’s triggering remarks came during a discussion about the Super Bowl logo when the topic of the release of the previously sealed court documents involving the deceased pedophile and his associates came up, Rodgers couldn’t resist jabbing the thin-skinned Democratic Party shill who had previously insulted him over Epstein.
“There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping that doesn’t come out,” Rodgers said, seeming to insinuate that the host’s name would be among those that would be revealed.
Kimmel reacted by taking to the X platform to deny any contact with the fiendish sex criminal and master manipulator, threatening to lawyer up.
“Dear A***hole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court,” he wrote.

Like the overwhelming majority of leftists, Kimmel can dish it out but can’t take it, having previously mocked Rodgers on his show. He ridiculed the quarterback over his remarks about Epstein in March 2023.

“Needless to say, all this UFO talk has the tinfoil-hatters going wild, including Green Bay whack Packer Aaron Rodgers, who offered this hot take on ‘The Pat McAfee Show,’” the host said as he showed a clip of the quarterback’s remarks expressing hope that Epstein’s list would come out. “Might be time to revisit that concussion protocol.”
The former Green Bay Packer who was traded to the Jets last year has been shredded by the media and celebs over his criticism of the controversial COVID vaccines, shots that have been treated like a holy sacrament by Democrats and their fellow leftist travelers including Kimmel, one of the late-night jab pushers.
“Jimmy Kimmel is probably your most famous Disney employee on the TV side,” one “former ESPN talent” is quoted by The Washington Post in its story about the network’s reaction to Rodgers’ remarks. “He’s been doing late night for 20 years. And they let somebody go on Disney TV and call him a pedophile. That is bananas.”
The Epstein documents have been released in batches this week and so far there has been no mention of Kimmel.
