Ex-disinformation diva Nina Jankowicz calls out Nancy Pelosi for ‘blatant misrepresentation’

The Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board may be a thing of the past, but that hasn’t stopped the former head of the Ministry of Truth from speaking out against those who spread fake news, even when the perpetrator is none other than Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Citing polling data from FiveThirtyEight, Pelosi penned a campaign fundraising email in which she cheerfully declared that Democrats are “poised to win SIX Senate seats” in the upcoming November midterm elections.

“I’m in disbelief,” Pelosi wrote to potential donors. “John Fetterman is WINNING in Pennsylvania. Raphael Warnock is WINNING in Georgia. Catherine Cortez Masto is WINNING in Nevada. Maggie Hasson is WINNING in New Hampshire. Tim Ryan is WINNING in Ohio.”

“I cannot emphasize this enough,” the Democrat from California wrote. “We have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to HOLD the House, HOLD the Senate, and keep Democrats in power for another two years.”

Problem is, according to FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver, that’s just “straight-up misinformation.”

“Yeah, this is straight-up misinformation from Pelosi,” Silver tweeted Tuesday. “We have Democrats as heavy underdogs in Florida and Ohio.”

And to her credit, Jankowicz took the 82-year-old liberal lawmaker to task for the “deliberate” dissemination of false information.

“While it’s not the most outrageous falsely-attributed statement I’ve seen in a ’22 fundraising email, this blatant misrepresentation of @fivethirtyeight’s work is unacceptable,” she tweeted. “Dems should drop the disinfo (as I would wager it was deliberate) & focus fundraising on real issues.”

Surprisingly, Jankowicz isn’t wrong about the “real issues.”

Despite the constant claims to the contrary, polls indicate that American voters aren’t placing Dem talking points among their top concerns heading into the midterms.

In fact, as American Wire reported in late June, a jaw-dropping 71% of all likely voters surveyed in a USA Today/Suffolk University poll stated that the country is headed down the “wrong track.”

While Dems took to every mic and camera within sight to scream about the destruction of women’s liberties in the wake of the  Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the poll found that only 15% of voters thought abortion was the nation’s biggest problem.

As gas prices hit record levels, store shelves go bare, and inflation eats away at Americans’ wallets, 62% of voters place the economy at the top of their worry pole, and that’s a subject Democrats are going to have a hard time defending.

Americans simply aren’t buying President Biden’s claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin is responsible for their financial woes, and they haven’t done for some time.

Another poll — this one taken from May 25 -29 and conducted by the Trafalgar Croup and the Convention of States Action — found that 59.9% of Americans surveyed lay the blame for inflation at Biden’s feet.

Of those who point to Biden rather than Putin for the staggering costs of just about everything, one in three, or 33.3% of respondents, were Democrats.
