Facebook claims it censored iconic Trump pic in error, few are buying it

Facebook admitted that it censored the iconic image of former President Donald J. Trump moments after a sniper narrowly missed killing him during a failed assassination attempt.

The Mark Zuckerberg-founded company claimed that when it threatened to deplatform the account of the user End Wokeness for sharing the picture, that was an “error” which is the word most often used to describe the actions of tech censors that always seem to go just one way.

The picture which shows Trump with blood running down his face with his fist thrust in the air against the backdrop of an American flag was taken after the bullet grazed his ear on July 13 at a rally in Butler, PA, an image that even his enemies have acknowledged is among the most powerful in the nation’s history.

“Seeing Donald Trump get up after getting shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life,” said an impressed Zuckerberg in an interview with Bloomberg.

Trump’s defiant gesture after nearly having his head blown off on live television has been likened to such pictures as the one of U.S. Marines planting the flag on Iwo Jima. It represents a big problem for Democrats and their media minions who have spent weeks trying to memory-hole both the image and the assassination itself.

After the brazen act of censorship drew attention, a Facebook/Meta representative responded to a post from conservative commentator and influencer Charlie Kirk calling the company out for its falsely claiming that the Trump pic had been doctored.

“Yes, this was an error,” said company spokesperson Dani Lever. “This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the Secret Service agents smiling, and in some cases, our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo. This has been fixed and we apologize for the mistake.”

However, many were skeptical that it was just an innocent mistake and not a part of an established pattern of censorship from the Silicon Valley tech giants.

Facebook’s “error” comes after Google drew criticism over its “Autofill” feature that limited users from searching for information about Trump’s assassination, another sign that Democrat-aligned Big Tech is going to have a thumb on the scale for the election.
