Father of Marine murdered in Mexico recounts meeting Trump: ‘Had a tear in his eye…he cared about us’

Silence from the White House silence struck a stark contrast to former President Donald Trump’s “tear in his eye” response to news that a U.S. Marine Corps veteran was fatally shot in Mexico.

Be it trivial matters like which candidates are “weird” or serious concerns about governmental overreach, the Democratic Party’s game plan has maintained continued projection of its inclinations concerning Trump and the GOP.

Amid one such effort to peg Trump as uncaring when it comes to American military service members, the compassion of the Republican and his running mate differed entirely from the lack of response from the Biden-Harris administration after 31-year-old veteran Nicholas Douglas Quets was fatally shot while beach-bound on Oct. 18.

“I did not know what to expect because he’s a TV star, billionaire, populist,” the victim’s father, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Warren Douglas Quets told the Washington Examiner of his opportunity to speak with Trump during his recent stop in Arizona. “He looked at me, looked at the picture of Nick. He had a tear in his eye, and said, ‘Tell me what happened.’ And he was actually angry as we told him the story.”

The Examiner’s homeland security reporter Anna Giaritelli shared images of the family that included the sixth-generation Marine and his best friend and brother-in-law, retired U.S. Air Force Capt. Philip Sweet.

“My family feels more comfort in this horrible, horrific event that we’ve been dealing with,” said the captain. “To feel comfort from somebody that we’ve never met, but felt like he was a member of our family, and he cared about us, truly cared about us.”

Likewise, Quets explained upon meeting Trump and talking for 10 to 15 minutes, “He said, ‘Tell me what I can do for you and your family.'”

“I can tell you, at least I know if I know nothing else, both Trump and [Ohio Sen. J.D.] Vance care about us,” he went on.

The father recounted his meeting with the senator in Tucson earlier in the week where the lawmaker said, “‘You’re talking to me as J.D. I want you to tell me exactly what I need to know, and I want you to tell me how I can help.’ That’s what he said. So it was a really classy move, and it was sincere.”

“As an apolitical guy, you want the best for the country, which is what I’ve devoted my life to. I left the meeting thinking I was ready to follow Vance any place,” he added.

For his part, Vance drew attention to the tragedy that continued to go unaddressed by the federal government, expressing during his rally, “I promise you, the Calvary is coming. And when Donald Trump is president, we’re gonna kick the cartel’s a**es and we’re gonna do it for you and for every person in this room.”

Trump similarly promised justice for the family when Quets relayed how he’d expressed his desire for the U.S. government to be involved in seeking justice for his son.

“Sir, what I would like is for when you’re inaugurated, for us to have a picture of these criminals and thugs being extradited at the border in cooperation with the Mexicans and my son-in-law, who’s a federal law enforcement [agent], to be cuffing the person responsible for this and bring him into the U.S. for prosecution,” he recounted telling the president what he wanted.

“We will make that happen on the 20th of January if I am elected,” Trump reportedly said.

Meanwhile, after the Harris campaign revisited the “suckers and losers” hoax, making allegations about Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery honoring the fallen from the botched Afghanistan withdrawal and the corporate media ran a smear alleging Trump complained about paying for the funeral of U.S. Army Private Vanessa Guillén, murdered at Fort Hood, the family of Quets confirmed they’d heard nothing from President Joe Biden or Harris.

“I have no doubt in my mind that the president of the United States was briefed on Saturday morning in his presidential brief that a United States Marine veteran was killed in Mexico. I have no doubt,” said Sweets.

Similarly, Quets told the Examiner, “How can this be that this Marine gets killed 30 minutes south of the border? I haven’t heard from anybody, elected or appointed government officials, at all.”

“And I begged for that,” he went on stating that he would be reaching out to newly-elected Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to ask for help in getting the U.S. government involved in seeking justice.
