The Lone Star State’s “faux ghetto” congresswoman found herself back in the spotlight after a resurfaced jab at a Florida colleague’s marriage reinforced that “Racism is racism.”

Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s (D) concerted effort for newsworthy soundbites continued to prove a double-edged sword for the Dallas-area lawmaker. Facing scrutiny over expressing her hope to see Elon Musk “taken down” and for refusing to apologize after referring to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) as “Governor Hot Wheels,” a new viral clip found her taking umbrage with Florida Rep. Byron Donalds’ (R) interracial marriage.
Appearing on “The Breakfast Club” in June 2024 while wearing a t-shirt that referenced a dig at Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) and her “bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body,” Crockett turned her attention to Donalds and his wife of more than 20 years, Erika Donalds.
“If we continue to put people into office, and that even means some of our skinfolk, who definitely are not our kinfolk, such as Byron Donalds, who are gonna continue to say…the fact that you sittin’ around talkin’ about life was better under Jim Crow,” said the congresswoman. “Like, is this because you don’t understand history, or literally it’s because you married a white woman and so you think that that whitewashed you?”
Sunday on Fox News’ “The Big Weekend Show,” anchor Kevin Corke cut to the chase with his reaction and asserted, “First of all, she’s cosplaying. She’s trying to be the new AOC. ‘I’m so cool. I’m so hip. I can talk in an accent like this.'”
“I think a lot of it, what you’re seeing, is an act,” he continued while accusing Crockett of a lack of legislative action. “I think the real issue here for me personally is, it’s racism. Can you imagine if somebody, say Hispanic, said to another Hispanic person, ‘Hey, they’re not Hispanic because they married somebody white.’ Racism is racism. And by saying that about Byron Donalds, you’re gross and I think you should be reprimanded for that because — you may be entitled to your free speech, it doesn’t mean that you’re entitled to be a disgusting, racist person, which is what it sounded to me like she was being.”
The panel went on to point out that Crockett’s time in the Texas state legislature had shown her to be a “totally different person” who, after receiving an education in private schools, was “eloquent.”
“She’s just a phony. This is all fake. She’s basically an actress,” argued Republican strategist Lisa Boothe.
Meanwhile, Tyrus took aim at Charlamagne during Monday’s installment of “Gutfeld!” after host Greg Gutfeld set up the clip with the rhyme, “Jasmine Crockett’s got a new take. No blacks and whites on a wedding cake.”
“Hmm, that’s not very woke, is it?” Gutfeld posited before turning to the former professional wrestler, himself in an interracial marriage, who contended the host should have kicked the lawmaker out.
“See, the problem is that we are allowing our own culture to be openly racist and get away with it. Now, if a white person is offended by that, and they should be, they say something — it’s not the same thing — but, if you say that and another brother looks at you and goes, ‘Man, you wrong for that and I don’t want you on my show. Get the hell out,'” said Tyrus, who went on to argue that Gutfeld would have kicked someone off the show for a similar display of racism.

In addition to the news coverage of the congresswoman, who’s been warned by Attorney General Pam Bondi to “tread carefully” after expressing desire to see Elon Musk “taken down” amid violent activism against his company Tesla, social media got in on the action, calling out Crockett’s highlight reel of hate.
