An FBI agent raised new alarms about a Venezuelan gang’s infiltration of the United States amid reports of a potentially volatile team up.
While congressional bleeding hearts put their globalist concerns ahead of their constituents in failing to address the border crisis under President Joe Biden’s watch, an untold number of illegal entries have tacked on to the estimated 8 million encounters documented.
In addition to the dangers of smugglers trafficking in drugs, weapons and people alongside the threat of individuals from the terror watchlist coming in, FBI agent John Morales told the New York Post about how Mara Salvatrucha, better known as MS-13, could be forming alliances with the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
“While these gangs wouldn’t normally mix, it’s always going to be a concern as the gang (Tren de Aragua) expands in strength and establishes a foothold,” Morales explained to the newspaper. “Right now we are working with our local law enforcement partners and sharing intelligence in order to stop the growth of Tren de Aragua.”
As previously reported, the South American gang had been deemed “the fastest-growing Transnational Criminal Organization in the world” and been linked to cities across the U.S., including Miami, Florida where a former Venezuelan police officer was believed to have been murdered by a 23-year-old member.

According to Border Patrol, between Oct. 2022 and Sept. 2023 at least 41 members of Tren de Aragua had been apprehended entering the country.
“Their first victims are their fellow Venezuelans,” said Morales as he described the gang’s practices of extortion for protection or to head to America. Despite those figures, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had extended the Temporary Protected Status of Venezuelans who had arrived prior to the end of July by 18 months that September, citing the dangerous conditions in their home country.
“They are already coming over as hardened criminals,” security consultant and former US Marshal in El Paso Robert Almonte told the Post. “But [Tren de Aragua] could certainly be trying to recruit others to join the gang in the US.”
“I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that they could form alliances with other gangs, but what’s more likely to happen is that turf wars break out as each gang fights to control their own criminal enterprise,” he cautioned.
Recently, law enforcement in New York City had cracked down on a moped-riding, illegal alien gang on a violent crime spree throughout the Big Apple with 30-year-old Venezuelan-born Victor Parra named as the alleged ringleader. Likewise, a 15-year-old being tried as an adult for attempted murder after allegedly pulling a gun on police officers in Times Square was traced back to Venezuela.
As it happened, authorities also believed Héctor Guerrero, the leader of the gang known by the alias El Niño Guerrero, could have made his own way to the United States after escaping his prison headquarters during a 2023 military raid of the facility.
Authorities in Venezuela were offering a $250,000 reward for the wanted man.
