FBI is treating swatting attacks as terror threats: ‘KASH IS KEEPING HIS PROMISE! THANK YOU’

Director Kash Patel proved his FBI wasn’t messing around as conservatives targeted by dangerous “swatting” revealed how the attacks were being investigated.

Hardly a harmless prank, reports have continued to be shared on social media of conservative figures being visited by law enforcement after false reports of crimes like hostage situations at their locations. As one such incident risked escalating to shots fired involving a journalist’s father, it had been reported that the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force had been dispatched to investigate the “swatters” for acts of terrorism.

Even after Patel had issued a statement expressing that “weaponizing law enforcement…will not be tolerated,” additional reports had come in of conservatives receiving visits from law enforcement, including columnist Larry Taunton who shared doorbell footage and detailed how officers had been dispatched to his home having been led to believe he was shooting people.

The situation had de-escalated, but Taunton had explained that he had been armed much like the father of journalist Nick Sortor who had shared details of a dozen cops who’d “attempted to kick my dad’s door in at gunpoint.”

Sortor went on to reveal that “High-level FBI officials ” had visited his father’s house after the incident and expressed, “These TERRORISTS have F***ED AROUND, and now they’re about to FIND OUT!”

Additionally, he posted to X, “The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is now getting involved with the swattings of conservatives, including the attack on my father…The FULL FORCE of the federal government is now investigating this as TERRORISM!”

“Kash and Bongino’s FBI is taking this INCREDIBLY seriously, and I can’t express to you how thankful my family and I are. This means Tulsi Gabbard’s Office of Director of National Intelligence assets will be deployed, as well as CIA and Department of Defense. Trump’s FBI is NOT screwing around. You are evil pieces of crap fcked with the wrong people,” he added as the account Beard Vet also shared the business card of a JTTF Task Force Officer.

Of course, even as the reality of the severity of the crimes being committed circulated, others like Matt Van Swol and Juanita Broderick shared their own “swatting” experiences.

Broderick had detailed that, “About 10 police and swat team showed up. They said the caller said there were 2 masked men and people inside had been shot. This sh*t needs to stop.”

While those targeted found support from law enforcement and legislators like Utah Sen. Mike Lee (R) who posted, “Swatting = domestic terrorism…It must be prosecuted,” some revealed a change in tactics to keep the harassment and fear going beyond the dangerous threats.

Van Swol  was among those who explained, “More pizza deliveries around midnight. This is clearly a fear tactic designed to scare us. To take the wind out of the sails of anyone doing this, I’ll no longer be posting about it happening on X, even if it continues. When the criminals are caught, I’ll let you know.”
