Federal employees vow to resist Trump’s generous buyout offer just to spite him

There will be some government employees who will take President Donald J. Trump up on his generous offer to voluntarily resign and continue to be paid for the next eight months, however, there are other more malicious workers who are plotting to defy the buyout to spite him.

With the Trump administration and the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) expected to undertake a major housecleaning, the president is giving those who may be impacted a chance to take the money and enjoy a paid period of transitioning into another career.

There is however a reluctance among some leftists to be displaced from their cushy jobs where they have been allowed to work from home and they are taking to Reddit to share their intentions to resist Trump by continuing to work to oppose him. In short, exactly the type of employees that need to be sent packing.

Federal freeloaders took to the subreddit r/fednews to share their intention to resist with like-minded users.

“I’ll be honest, before that email went out, I was looking for any way to get out of this fresh hell,” read one popular post which has drawn over 36,000 upvotes. “But now I am fired up to make these goons as frustrated as possible, RTO be damned.”

“They can’t fire us as easily as they thought, so they are trying to scare us into quitting, don’t fall for it!” A user wrote in a post that was upvoted more than 16,000 times.

Another post that got over 44,000 upvotes claimed that the leftist leeches are the “last line of defense against fascism” and “If we leave, we will be replaced by loyalists.”

“We took an oath to serve our country and fellow Americans. They can drag me out,” another user wrote.

Some elected Democrats are openly encouraging resistance from the party’s loyal foot soldiers who are riddled throughout the sprawling federal bureaucracy.

On Wednesday, Trump said that workers who don’t return to the office by next week’s deadline will be fired.

“We have informed the federal workforce that if they’re working for the federal government, they must show up to the office on time and on schedule,” Trump said during a Wednesday White House event, adding. “If they don’t agree by February 6 to show up back to work in their office, they will be terminated.”

The president predicted that a “very substantial number of people will not show up to work” which will make the government “smaller and more efficient.”
