Fetterman breaks with Dems on border control

In one of the year’s biggest surprises, Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) has emerged as his party’s most rational voice and is now defending the need for a “reasonable” discussion about border security.

The hulking leftist lawmaker has incurred the wrath of the Jew-haters who comprise a large chunk of the Democrat base over his outspoken support for Israel and risks further alienating people who were his biggest cheerleaders by defying party orthodoxy about the Biden regime’s disastrous immigration policies.

“I hope Democrats can understand that it isn’t xenophobic to be concerned about the border,” the senator said, according to Politico. “It’s a reasonable conversation, and Democrats should engage.”

The Pennsylvania Democrat cited data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection on the nearly 270,000 illegal alien encounters at the border in September to make his case for sensible border control.

“Honestly, it’s astonishing. And this isn’t a Fox News kind of statistic. This is the government’s,” Fetterman said. “You essentially have Pittsburgh showing up there at the border.”

“I haven’t met anyone that can have a really crisp, cogent solution or easy solution on, ‘Well, what do you do when you have roughly a city similar in size of Pittsburgh coming up to the border?’” Fetterman said.

The conflict in Gaza between Israel and the Hamas terror organization which massacred over a thousand of its citizens with primitive savagery has exposed a rift in the normally rock solid unity of the Democrat base with the antisemites condemning the Jewish state and openly siding with the terrorists. Now the same people who passionately defended Fetterman over his mental misfires and slobbish attire have turned on him.

The senator again infuriated left-wingers with his recent condemnation of an angry mob of bullies who descended on a Philadelphia falafel restaurant to intimidate its Jewish owner as antisemites, hitting the nail squarely on the head.

“They could be protesting Hamas. They could be protesting Hamas’ systematic rape of Israeli women and girls or demanding the remaining hostages be immediately released,” he wrote on X. “Instead, they targeted a Jewish restaurant. It’s pathetic and rank antisemitism.”

After the incident, Fetterman told the Washington Examiner that he reached out to chef Michael Solomonov whom the mob taunted with chants of “Goldie, Goldie you can’t hide. We charge you with genocide,” letting the Pittsburgh native know that he “has his back.”

“The fact that an angry mob attacked a Jewish business is completely appalling and frankly shocking that this can even happen. Everyone needs to swiftly condemn what happened. I’ve spoken to a lot of different people from the Jewish community across Pennsylvania, and they are actually feeling unsafe right now. And now, you have a mob attacking a Jewish restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. it’s unacceptable,” he said.
