Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) rejected the “progressive” label that was once applied to him, breaking with the radical leftist elements that now dominate his party.
Having made a miraculous recovery from a debilitating stroke and clinical depression to emerge as the sanest voice among Democrats, the senator explained how the left has left him while defending President Joe Biden’s executive order on border security in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash.
During his Wednesday appearance on the cable news network, the Pennsylvania Democrat, who’s a throwback to the party’s days before it was fully radicalized, told the anchor that he’s “not a progressive” in making a distinction between himself and the America-hating, open borders anti-Semites who proudly brand themselves as such.

Faced with dismal polling on illegal immigration, Biden announced his executive order – an election year gimmick – and was criticized for being like the Republicans by leftists, including Progressive Caucus queen bee Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) who accused him of using the “same tools as Donald Trump.”
“Some progressives have criticized you for being a different senator than you suggested you would be when you were a candidate for Senate, what do you say to that?” Bash asked.
“Well, I wasn’t. I was very clear for saying that for years, I’m not a progressive and I just identified myself as just a regular Democrat, so it really wasn’t any new news,” Fetterman responded. “Now, eight years ago, I was a progressive, but the situation’s changed and I‘ve been very clear that I didn‘t leave that label. That label [left] me and I think it’s much more important to be focusing on Donald Trump instead of you know, kinds of purity tests and those kinds of issues.”
Anti-Semitic Democrat progressives such as “The Squad” have openly sided with Hamas and Rep. Jayapal sparked outrage last year when she downplayed the rapes committed by the terrorists.

Fetterman has infuriated progressives – who once treated him like a cuddly pet – with his staunch support of Israel after the Jewish democracy responded to the October 7, 2023 attack on civilian areas by the Hamas terror organization in which over 1,200 Israelis were slaughtered, many with barbaric cruelty.
Now @JohnFetterman is telling everyone how he’s not a progressive, he rejects us and is now calling Harvard “pinko.” What the fuck? This is why people lose hope, because of frauds like Fetterman. You work hard to get a progressive elected and they turn into Republicans instantly.

The hoodie-clad senator has stood apart from Democrats for defending Israel, a nation that many in the party seem to be at war with as the lack of a ceasefire in Gaza remains elusive, putting Biden’s reelection hopes in jeopardy if Michigan Muslims don’t turn out in November.
“Demand Hamas to surrender. Demand release every hostage. Demand to seize billions of dollars Hamas stole from Gaza. Demand those stolen billions to rebuild Gaza and compensate true victims- Israelis and Palestinians. Demand Hamas eliminated or permanently exiled,” Fetterman wrote in a post to X in March, taking the sort of hard-line approach toward the terrorists that Biden won’t because it would alienate his Jew-hating voters.
