‘Fight Back. You’re The Speaker!’ Johnson runs into buzzsaw while calling out Biden on migrant voting

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is feeling the heat from within conservative circles to fight back after calling attention to President Biden opposing a bill that would prevent illegal aliens from voting.

Known as the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or the SAVE Act, the bill would amend the National Voter Registration Act and require proof of citizenship before registering to vote. It would also purge noncitizens from voter rolls.

“It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal elections — it is a Federal crime punishable by prison and fines,” the White House said in a statement on Monday. “The alleged justification for this bill is based on easily disproven falsehoods.”

“States already have effective safeguards in place to verify voters’ eligibility and maintain the accuracy of voter rolls,” the release continued. “This bill would do nothing to safeguard our elections, but it would make it much harder for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters are purged from voter rolls. The evidence is clear that the current laws to prevent noncitizen voting are working as intended — it is extraordinarily rare for noncitizens to break the law by voting in Federal elections.”

Speaker Johnson shared the White House statement on X, adding: “It should alarm every American citizen that the sitting President of the United States, who has opened our border to over 9 million illegals, just announced that he would veto our bill to prevent noncitizens from voting.”

In a separate post, Johnson went further, “Why are Democrats so adamantly against ensuring only American citizens vote in our elections? They want to turn illegal aliens into voters. We must pass the SAVE Act to prevent this.”

In the end, it’s the same old song and dance from the Democratic Party, which wants our elections to be as wide open as our borders, with few controls in place to govern who actually votes. The media reliably comes down in their favor, proclaiming that illegal voting is few and far between.

Billionaire Elon Musk shared Johnson’s post on X, the social media platform he now owns. He also agreed with an assessment from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxon.

“The White House has formally announced that Biden will veto the Republican bill that seeks to prevent noncitizens from voting,” Paxon said. “There is no hiding it now. Biden and the Democrats want illegal immigrants to vote in the election this November. Our elections are NOT safe from mass interference as long as states do not require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.”

Musk had plenty more to share when it comes to the U.S. electoral process.

“When combined with mail-in ballots, the system is *designed* to make it impossible to prove fraud,” he posted. “Mail-in and drop box ballots should not be allowed, as cameras on the in-person voting stations would at least prevent large-scale fraud by counting how many people showed up vs ballots cast.”

In yet another post, Musk wrote: “Electronic voting machines and anything mailed in is too risky. We should mandate paper ballots and in-person voting only.”

There is a lot of skepticism in America about how fair and accurate our elections are and while Musk’s suggestions would result in more trustworthy outcomes, the left would rather burn this country to the ground than allow for much-needed election reform.

On that note, Republicans have exhibited far less passion in righting the ship — certainly not the same passion they show toward funding a foreign war in Ukraine.
