First-round NFL draft turns tables to shoot San Fran mugger with his own gun – after being shot in chest

The newest member of the San Francisco 49ers got a rude introduction to the crime-ridden city and is fortunate that he escaped with his life.

In an incident that’s only shocking to those who don’t understand that the City by the Bay has become a third-world hellhole under Democrat control, star rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during a robbery attempt while downtown, but he managed to turn the tables on the assailant.

On Saturday afternoon, the NFL team’s top pick in this year’s draft had wrapped up an event signing autographs and headed to Union Square where he was accosted by the teen thug with a gun who wanted to steal his Rolex.

But the former Florida Gators star didn’t meekly surrender the costly watch, resisting the criminal who shot him, but not before he was also shot with his own gun during the struggle that left Pearsall with a bullet wound to his chest but in “serious but stable” condition.

The injured suspect has not been publicly identified other than the description that it is a 17-year-old male from Tracy, CA. It does not appear that Pearsall was targeted because he’s an NFL player.

“During the preliminary investigation, officers learned one of the subjects attempted to rob the victim, San Francisco 49ers player Ricky Pearsall,” the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement.

“During the attempted robbery, a physical altercation ensued, and both the suspect and victim were injured. The suspect is in custody and charges are pending at this time. All information is preliminary, and more information will be provided as it becomes available,” the SFPD statement read.

“San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was the victim of an attempted robbery and shooting this afternoon,” the team said in a statement posted to X on Saturday. “He sustained a bullet wound to his chest and is in serious but stable condition. We ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ricky and the entire Pearsall family.”

“This afternoon, there was an attempted robbery in Union Square involving San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and he was shot,” San Francisco’s Democrat Mayor London Breed said in a post to X. “SFPD was on scene immediately and an arrest of the shooter was made. My thoughts are with Ricky and his family at this time.”

“He’s good. Thank god!!!!” 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel posted to X.

Picked 31st overall by the 49ers after a big season at Florida, Pearsall missed time in the preseason due to a shoulder injury. Now he’s going to be sidelined as he recovers from the near deadly experience on the streets of San Francisco.

The 49ers kick off their 2024 schedule with a Monday night home matchup against native Californian Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets at Levi’s Stadium on September 9.
