Fmr. Secret Service agent respectfully says that Trump’s ‘girth’ would make Jan 6 story impossible

The Democratic Party’s much-ballyhooed “bombshell” testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, a former low-level White House staffer, centered on her recounting remarks from a Secret Service agent about former President Donald Trump not only grabbing the steering wheel of the presidential SUV but doing so while trying to strangle agent Bobby Engel  — all from the BACK SEAT.

Never mind that sources discounted the fanciful testimony and said both agents involved were willing to testify that this did not happen, the science alone dictates that the feat is damn near impossible.

In what may be a first, Trump’s generous “girth” at 6-foot-3 and somewhere around 250 pounds works in his favor, according to one former agent.

The former agent said Trump, who was 73 years old at the time, would have had to squeeze through an “extremely tight” space to be able to grab the steering wheel, according to the Insider.

Here is a video from the sham Jan. 6 select committee citing the disputed testimony to say Trump “wanted to go to the Capitol with the armed mob, despite warning not to do so from his advisors.”

Keep in mind that Cassidy recounted Engle telling Trump to take his hand off the steering wheel, meaning he had succeeded in his alleged “lunge” — Trump had told the crowd at the Jan. 6, 2020 “Stop the Steal” rally that he would join them at the U.S. Capitol, and reportedly became irate when Secret Service told him they were taking him to the White House instead because it was not safe at the Capitol.

“The president reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel,” Hutchinson testified. “Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel, we’re going back to the West Wing, we’re not going to the Capitol.’ Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel.”

While saying it’s not entirely impossible to grab the steering wheel from the back, the former agent stressed that Trump is “not the most agile human being.”

“Trump’s not a little guy, right? And the space to actually be able to lunge towards the wheel is not that big,” the former agent told Insider. “I don’t mean to sound disparaging to the former president, but just his girth would prevent him from actually getting to the steering wheel.”

“There’s just too much gray area to bet the farm on it,” Bill Pickle, a former deputy assistant director of the Secret Service, told Insider.

The presidential SUV is fully armored and there are security features separating the front and back seats and jump seats.

“You have to slightly be a contortionist to get from the back cabin to the front cabin, and the president’s not a contortionist,” he added.
