Fmr. State Department investigator doesn’t mince words on new Fauci documents: ‘It’s a cover up’

A newly unredacted February 2020 letter written by Dr. Anthony Fauci discussing the origins of  COVID-19 leaves no doubt in the mind of one former State Department pandemic investigator that there has been an extensive “cover-up.”

The letter, addressed to “folks” and signed by Fauci, was part of a trove of communications and comments uncovered by the House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, led by Reps. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) and Raul Ruiz (D-Calif.) and released earlier this week.

In it, Fauci wrote that “mutations in the virus that would be most unusual to have evolved naturally in bats” were found in the viral sequence of the coronavirus strain, adding that there was “a suspicion that this mutation was intentionally inserted…”

On Friday’s episode of Fox News’s “The Story,” anchor Martha MacCallum read parts of the unredacted letter to former State Department investigator Dr. David Asher.

“The suspicion was heightened by the fact that scientists in Wuhan University are known to be working on gain-of-function experiments to determine the molecular mechanisms associated with bat viruses adapting to human infection and the outbreak originated in Wuhan,” she continued.

Upon further “considerable discussion,” Fauci wrote, “some of the scientists felt more strongly about this possibility. Two others felt differently, but they felt it was entirely conceivable that it could have evolved naturally with these mutations.”

Fauci later went on “to completely wipe that lab version off the table, which he goes into great detail on here,” MacCallum told Dr. Asher. “What do you make of this?”

“It’s a cover-up,” Asher stated bluntly. “We’ve been talking about this without being able to see the documents up-close and personal for two years now.”

“There is a heck of a lot more that the Republican investigators on that Covid subcommittee have uncovered,” he continued. “They’ve gotten through all the private communications of all of the scientists orchestrated by Fauci to draft this proximal origins paper that concluded that beyond a reasonable doubt, this thing came from nature.”

“The scientists among themselves with Fauci looped in as far as the essence of communications, as of the 20th of February, were still saying that at least 50-75% bioengineered,” Asher explained. “They were essentially rejected initially by the Nature Medicine journal because they were suggesting it might not have come from nature.”

“So the cover-up is so much more extensive,” he said, “and I can only imagine what’s going to come out in the coming weeks as more of these internal communications are uncovered, and we go and double back with some of these scientists that testified under oath that they had never really taken the zoonotic story behind covered as a primary thesis.”

He noted that the scientists are saying that they had that thesis “all the way up, basically, to the publication of that paper, and it was essentially rejected by Fauci and Nature Medicine itself, which is also complicit. So, here’s our most famous medical journal, Nature, that’s involved in the cover-up as well.”
