Fmr. Trump advisor blasts GOP rep for wearing IDF uniform in Congress: ‘You don’t do it’

“‘Global Day of Rage’ my ass.”

Those were the words of Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) on Friday as he donned his Israeli Defense Force uniform and walked into the U.S. Capitol.

But, according to former Donald Trump adviser Stephen Miller, “you do not wear a foreign military uniform” into “the halls of Congress.”

Friday was the day former Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal called for a worldwide jihad in solidarity with the Hamas terrorists who launched a savage attack on Israel a week ago.

“As the only member to serve with both the United States Army and the Israel Defense Forces, I will always stand with Israel,” Mast, who lost both his legs in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, stated on X.

The Florida lawmaker took a swipe at Democratic Socialist Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), who flew a Palestinian flag — ironically, next to the Pride flag — outside her office door.

“Tlaib’s got her flag,” Mast said. “I got my uniform.”

Fox News’s Will Cain, guest host on Friday’s “The Ingraham Angle,” asked Miller, founder of America First Legal, about Tlaib’s flag and Mast’s uniform.

“What serves America’s interests first?” Cain asked. “How do you look at these situations with our elected representatives?”

“Well, to me that’s a very clear one,” Miller replied. “I have endless respect and endless admiration like you do for Brian Mast, his service and what he’s done for our country. But clearly, you cannot and you do not wear a foreign military uniform, regardless of whether they’re a partner or ally of the United States into the halls of Congress. You don’t do it.”

“You also do not fly foreign flags within our halls of government,” he stated. “If you are a U.S. government official, you do not wear foreign flags. The only circumstance where you would, would be on a particular event with another head of state where you’re doing some maybe bilateral ceremony where it’s been done traditionally for many decades. But outside of very narrow circumstances, you do not wear foreign flags or foreign paraphernalia as an American government official.”

“Absolutely right,” Cain agreed. “Seems fairly obvious and [an] easy bar to cross that you are elected to serve the people of America, first. Stephen, you put it wonderfully.”

On X, many agreed with Miller’s assessment.

“Is it AMERICA FIRST or ISRAEL FIRST?” asked one user. “Take the foreign uniform off, shameful that US POLITICIANS shill for other countries.”

“Why is this even a subject of debate?” asked Blaze Media host Lauren Chen. “No nation’s representative should be donning a military uniform, hoisting the flag of another nation, or sporting a lapel pin of another country within their own nation’s capital. This applies to Israel, Palestine, and Ukraine alike.”

“I’m a Vet, and so was every generation in my family before me,” wrote one X user. “If my grandfather saw this Publicity Stunt, he would be as ashamed as I am today.”
