Former Black Lives Matter activist says anti-racism group is a ‘scam’

A former Black Lives Matter activist dished on how the organization is a “scam” and described how he became “red-pilled.”

During an appearance on NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines’ podcast, 29-year-old Xaviaer DuRousseau blasted Democrats as the party of “racism and violence” and called out the BLM movement.

“I grew up in a very left-wing liberal household. I would dare to even say it was pretty Marxist, my upbringing, and I was told my entire life that I needed to fixate on race and that everything needed to be about race,” he said.

He went on to recount how, “as a joke,” he applied for a role on the Netflix series “The Circle” and, as he prepared, researching conservative arguments to debunk, he revealed that “I accidentally debunked myself instead and backed out of the show.”

“Because it was COVID, I had nothing but time on my hands, so I’m like, ‘Let me start researching without confirmation bias,’ which I didn’t realize how bad I had confirmation bias,” he told Gaines. “And I saw quickly that I was not researching to make a conclusion – I already had a conclusion that I was trying to research to defend.”

“But once I started looking at the conservative side of the argument, I started realizing, Oh wait, socialism has literally never worked, BLM has always been a scam, and the Democratic Party has always been the party of racism and violence,” said DuRousseau, who helped organize BLM demonstrations in 2020.  “I have just been drinking the Kool-Aid because this was the indoctrination that was put upon me from the age of a little child.”

He went on to note how, as he questioned the rioting and protests, he was met with hostility.

“Whenever I called it out, I was told that I needed to stay in line or that I was losing the plot,” he told Gaines. “And I just got sick of it.”

“After George Floyd’s death … I just started seeing people exploiting the movement so much, and I started realizing how performative a lot of the activism was,” recalled DuRousseau, who is now a conservative influencer and works with PragerU.

“And it was like these white Antifa members saying that they were stealing all of these shoes and TVs in the name of justice for reparations,” he continued. “It’s like there’s so many layers of why this just wasn’t making sense to me.”
