Former Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill’s Mar-a-Lago debut proves to be too much for ‘Dave’

Former Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill, the American badass credited with killing Osama bin Laden, made a debut appearance at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and it proved to be a bit too much for one social media user.

The BORDER911 Gala was held at the resort last Thursday, April 4, featuring a special appearance by former President Donald Trump and former ICE Director Tom Homan. O’Neill is a member of the host committee, along with Sebastian Gorka, Matt Whitaker, Monica Crowley, and Mark Green.

“First time at Mar-A-Lago. Beautiful view from up here,” O’Neill tweeted while sharing a photograph of himself up on a stage taken from the ballroom.

A social media user under the name Dave Russell ended up with a twist in his panties over the post, tweeting: “All the way from national hero to national disgrace. Mar-A- F*ckin-Lago.”

Well, the slight caught our hero’s eye and he responded with his typical acerbic wit: “Damn, Dave… So we can’t count on your vote? #MAGA”

O’Neill frequently describes himself as an independent on his popular podcast The Operator, though he can be a harsh critic of President Biden — especially when it comes to the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The former SEAL Team Six member did include a MAGA hashtag in his reply, but it’s hard to say if that’s an official endorsement of Trump or just a dig at poor ol’ Dave, who got lit up online over his anti-Trump stance.

As seen below, O’Neill did impress some with his remarks:

As for the other guy, well, don’t be like Dave… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
