Former Trump lawyer who now backs DeSantis accuses Team Trump of hypocrisy, posts ‘receipts’

The fraternal battle within the Republican Party base between supporters of former President Donald J. Trump, the current 2024 frontrunner, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis rages on with Jenna Ellis, a former lawyer for the ex-POTUS punching back after she was savaged by Trump’s supporters.

Ellis, who hosts the radio show “Jenna Ellis in the Morning” reacted to a tweet by X Strategies CEO Alex Bruesewitz, an outspoken Trump supporter, who sought to draw attention to an article that raised questions on the reliability of pro-DeSantis polling, by posting “receipts” of what she says are Team Trump’s own ties to the elements of “The Swamp” and “woke” corporations.

According to the National Pulse article shared by Bruesewitz, the “pollster” behind the positive DeSantis numbers has ties to several GOP establishment Trump foes including former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, failed presidential candidate and current U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah), longtime Republican strategist Karl Rove, the former senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush, and left-wing sugar daddy George Soros.

“I respect President Trump, but I’m tired of his campaign hypocritically accusing Ron DeSantis of doing things THEY do,” Ellis wrote. “Since they insist on lying about DeSantis, I have created a running list of Team Trump’s ties to Jeb, The Swamp, and Woke corporations. I have MANY receipts.”

“Trump’s 2024 campaign is led by former Bush and Swamp operatives with close ties to woke corporations,” she added in another tweet. “Let’s start with Trump’s pollster, McLaughlin & Associates. McLaughlin was Jeb Bush’s pollster and he has been paid $3.8 million by Trump since 2016.”

She also stated that Trump’s pollster has worked with such “woke” corporations as Amazon, Pfizer, and Anheuser-Busch – which is currently dealing with the Dylan Mulvaney-Bud Light mess- as well as Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation.

“Imagine what Trump would say about DeSantis if his top advisor worked with ANY of them!” Ellis said.

Ellis continued to lay out the list of “receipts” to support her case.

“I have nothing against these Trump operatives,” Ellis wrote. “Trump and his people are the ones who say Bush and Swamp ties disqualify you from the Republican Party.Fine.Then by their OWN standard, Trump’s campaign should be disbanded and he should be disqualified. His rules.”

“Not all, but Trump’s worst ‘advisors’ are chronically unemployable losers whose livelihoods depend on him. That’s why they’re so terrified of DeSantis,” she added. I will update this list so long as they insist on lying and making the campaign and this election about anything other than the issues. Lie about me too all you want. I’ll speak truth without fear or favor, and continue to appeal to Trump to tell his advisors to stop.”

Trump and his surrogates have spent months throwing everything but the kitchen sink at DeSantis, his top rival for the GOP nomination who still hasn’t declared whether he’s running, and many have expressed concern that the scorched earth approach will only result in doing damage to both candidates by turning off conservative and independent voters and all but punching Joe Biden’s ticket for four more years to finish the job of taking a wrecking ball to America.
