Fox News’ Bill Melugin punches back after local Fox producer slams his ‘grimy’ Border Patrol ride-along

A local Fox producer in California was called out by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin after she criticized his “grimy” Border Patrol ride-along.

FOX40 producer Jodi Bacon unloaded on social media, where she sneered at the border agents allowing Melugin to be embedded with them in Sacramento. Melugin reported on the ride-along and subsequent raid at a local Home Depot, where several people were arrested.

Melugin clapped back at the KTXL producer for her criticism and whether she found it “appropriate” to post her remarks.

“SOOOO grimy…of COURSE Border Patrol had a FOX reporter ride along with them,” Bacon had written on X, reposting Melugin’s initial post on the raid. “To be targeted for NO reason is awful. This country deserves better.”

“You’re a producer for @FOX40? You are in charge of coverage of this event for your Sacramento TV station and you thought it would be appropriate to post this?” Melugin responded.

Bacon’s station reported that 11 arrests were made, ” plus the arrest of one U.S. Citizen.” The report noted that the U.S. citizen was arrested not on an immigration issue but for “impeding operations and assaulting a federal officer.”

“Are they actually supposed to be in our communities out here picking up people?” California Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom complained.

“ICE officials tell FOX40 they are now involved in processing the individuals and going through each individual’s history with a fine-tooth comb before they can determine the next steps. ICE officials say that this was not a random operation and that some individuals had been previously deported,” KTXL reported.

Meanwhile, Bacon does not appear to have responded to Melugin, but her post has been hit with plenty of backlash.

Others applauded Melugin for calling out the local producer.
