Fox News? Tucker Carlson calls out fmr. employer for not defending free speech of Alex Jones

Tucker Carlson called out his former employer (presumably Fox News) for remaining silent when Alex Jones was infamously removed from a number of social media platforms, including YouTube.

In a discussion with Tristan Tate, the brother of Andrew Tate, on free speech and standing up to the cancel culture, the Infowars conspiracy theorist’s name came up.

“You don’t have to agree with everything Alex Jones says,” Tate said. “I like Alex Jones.”

“I do too,” Carlson interjected.

The exchange begins just after the 48-minute mark in the video below:

“I don’t agree with everything Alex Jones says, and you don’t have to. But Bill Maher famously — and credit to him — said when Alex Jones got banned, he said we shouldn’t be banning people. He said I hate Alex Jones, but Alex Jones should be allowed to talk, everyone should be allowed to talk in the town square,” Tate added. “I feel like when they got Alex Jones there was no safety net.”

Carlson seemed to agree with Tate’s suggestion that Jones is a “warrior.”

“No one defended him,” Carlson observed, before setting his sites on Fox News. “I was fishing out of the country and the company that I worked for, which is supposedly in favor of free speech, said not one word in his defense.”

“And it’s like, first they came for Alex Jones… it’s the old adage,” Tate responded.

The Tate brothers were arrested in March 2023 by Romanian authorities and eventually charged with rape and human trafficking. They deny the charges and were just released from house arrest last week.
