U.S. Senator Ted Cruz delivered a scathing rebuke of President Joe Biden and Democrats over the open border policies that have let in millions of illegal migrants.
But the Texas Republican scorched fellow Republicans as well, whom he compared to “Charlie Brown with Lucy and the football,” as he tore apart the “stinking pile of crap bill” that GOP leadership is conspiring with Democrats to fund Ukraine and address border security.
In a press conference Wednesday, Cruz was joined by Republican Sens. Rick Scott (Fla.), Mike Lee (Utah), Ron Johnson (Wis.), Eric Schmitt (Mo.), Roger Marshall (Kan.) and Mike Braun (Ind.) as they expressed opposition to the bipartisan bill.
If Democrats cared about fixing the border, they would have already fixed it.

“It’s not that they’re bad at negotiating. It’s that they want this outcome and this outcome is terrible for the American people,” an angry Cruz said, holding Republican leaders, namely Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell accountable.
Unimaginable suffering has taken place at the border, and the media cannot comprehend that level of suffering.
853 people died last year. Thousands upon thousands of little girls raped. Dead bodies found on Texas farms and ranches.

“This supplemental bill is a kamikaze plane in a box canyon with no exit headed for a train wreck,” he fumed.
He contended that the bill is “designed to fail” because Democrats do not actually want to fix the border problem.

“This bill represents Senate Republican leadership waging war on House Republican leadership,” Cruz contended. “It’s not designed to secure the border and it won’t secure the border and that’s why leadership wants it kept in secret.”
