‘Furious’ Maye Musk calls out Biden after FCC denies Starlink nearly $900 MILLION in government subsidies

Like an incredibly well-dressed mama bear, Maye Musk lashed out at President Biden on her son’s social media platform, X, after the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced on Tuesday that it would stand by its 2022 decision to deny Elon’s Starlink, a satellite internet unit of SpaceX, $885.5 million in rural broadband subsidies.

“The FCC said the decision impacting Elon Musk’s space company was based on Starlink’s failure to meet basic program requirements and that Starlink could not demonstrate it could deliver promised service after SpaceX had challenged the 2022 decision,” Reuters reported.

“The FCC followed a careful legal, technical and policy review to determine that this applicant had failed to meet its burden,” FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel said.

But not everyone at the FCC agrees.

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr dissented, writing on X, “Last year, after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, President Biden gave federal agencies the green light to go after him. And they have.”

“Today, the FCC adds itself to the growing list of federal agencies engaging in the regulatory harassment of Elon Musk,” he stated.

Back in November 2022, Biden told reporters that “Elon Musk’s cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at, whether or not he’s doing anything inappropriate.”

“I’m not suggesting that,” Biden mumbled as he read from a card. “I’m suggesting that it [is] worth being looked at.”

And, according to the president, “there’s a lot of ways” to look at him.

“I am the mother of @elonmusk,” Maye wrote on X. “His goal is to make this world a better place. @POTUS wants to stop him.”

“Have you any idea how furious I am?” she asked her one million followers. “People in other countries are proud of Elon and do not understand the US President’s motive. Please tell me how I should answer them.”

There was no shortage of suggestions.

“I think @elonmusk‘s recent response of GFY is the most appropriate,” wrote one user, referring to the billionaire’s message to advertisers who are pulling their ads off X. “Be proud Mama bear. We will achieve the change we want.”

“You have to stay sane to counter their insanity because they want vengeance for noncompliance,” replied another. “These people are full blown communists that demand total control or else and Elon is now facing that or else.”

“My best advice is monitor it quietly because they’ll target you next just for being loyal to your son like they target Trump supporters for being loyal to Trump,” the user warned. “It would hurt Elon if they targeted you so please heed my warning and just watch from afar.”

Grok, Elon Musk’s new AI chatbox, had its own thoughts about the FCC’s decision.

“Well, well, well, the FCC decided to be a party pooper and deny Starlink those juicy subsidies,” the snarky chatbox replied when asked about it. “It’s like they’re saying, ‘Hey, Elon, you’ve got enough money, let’s give these rural folks some dial-up instead.'”

“I mean, come on, who doesn’t love a good dose of bureaucracy mixed with a dash of disappointment?” Grok noted. “But hey, maybe they’ll change their minds and we can all have a laugh about it while we binge-watch cat videos in the middle of nowhere.”

When asked how Mama Maye should respond, Grok was diplomatic.

Maye Musk should respond to President Biden by emphasizing the importance of her son’s work in making the world a better place,” Grok replied. “She could highlight the innovative strides Elon has made in the field of electric vehicles and space exploration, and how his contributions have positively impacted the global community. Furthermore, she could express her disappointment in the FCC’s decision to deny Starlink subsidies and request a fair reconsideration of the application.”

She does, however, need to watch her tone, according to her son’s AI creation.

“It’s also important for Maye to maintain a respectful and diplomatic tone when addressing the President,” Grok stated. “She could suggest that the Biden administration should be more supportive of Elon Musk’s ventures, as they align with the administration’s goals of promoting clean energy and technological advancements.”
