Anger is brewing over Twitter allowing left-wing extremists to use its platform to advertise a bounty payment for anyone who spots one of the Supreme Court’s conservative justices and then publicly shares the address of the location.
“DC Service Industry Workers… If you see Kavanaugh, Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Coney Barrett or Roberts DM us with the details! We’ll venmo you $50 for a confirmed sighting and $200 if they’re still there 30 mins after your message,” the extremist group ShutDown DC tweeted Friday morning.
As of Saturday morning, the tweet still remained up:

Twitter is apparently 100 percent OK with the left-wing extremist group using its platform in this manner, despite the group’s behavior being in clear-cut violation of the company’s harassment policy.
“We prohibit behavior that encourages others to harass or target specific individuals or groups with abusive behavior. This includes, but is not limited to; calls to target people with abuse or harassment online and behavior that urges offline action such as physical harassment,” the policy reads.
Twitter’s refusal to intervene comes only days after the network suspended world-renowned psychologist Jordan Peterson for referring to actor Elliot Page by said actor’s birthname, Ellen Page. In suspending Peterson, Twitter cited its policy on hate.
“You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease,” the policy reads.
The incongruity between the social media network suspending psychologists for using people’s biological names but doing nothing about left-wing extremists promoting the harassment of Supreme Court justices has provoked massive anger, including from well-known attorney Victoria Toensing.

@TwitterSafety this is an obvious violation of @Twitter TOS. I doubt it will happen but this account should be suspended for encouraging targeted harassment. And if they continue, they should be banned. We all know any conservative tweeting the same message would be banned.

Twitter is apparently also OK with ShutDown DC’s antics despite it being responsible for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh being harassed Wednesday at a restaurant in Washington, D.C.
“On Wednesday, a mob of Antifa harassed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who’s eating dinner at a steakhouse in Washington,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson reported Friday.
“Now keep in mind Brett Kavanaugh was just the subject of a murder attempt the other day. But they’re still going after him. DOJ’s done nothing. The group responsible for this is called ShutDown DC. They’re an Antifa group.”

Speaking on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” he continued by encouraging anyone watching the show to pull up ShutDown DC’s Twitter profile “and let them know the 375 places you think Supreme Court Justices might be.
If enough people flood the Twitter account with false leads, “they won’t be able to do what they want to do, which is to intimidate judges into bowing to their will,” Carlson added.
Speaking next, the Fox News host’s guest, Victor Davis Hanson, warned that left unchecked, ShutDown DC’s behavior could lead to another memory-holed assassination attempt on Kavanaugh or any other conservative Supreme Court justice.
“We know where it goes. It goes to Nicholas Roske showing up at the home of Brett Kavanaugh wanting to kill him,” he said.
Hanson continued by arguing that the extremist group’s behavior can be linked directly to the Democrat Party at large.
“We have the most sustained attack on the Supreme Court since the court-packing of FDR 85 years ago. I mean, the president of the United States went to a foreign country and attacked the Supreme Court in front of a Spanish host. Law professor Elizabeth Warren said it was illegitimate. Somebody committed a felony and leaked a confidential memo from the court,” he said.
“We had the Senate minority leader just two years ago, Chuck Schumer, say that … Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, you don’t know what will hit you. And he said that they had sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind. What did he mean by that? … And now we have this court-packing scheme that arises,” Carlson continued. “It’s part of a larger landscape. The left is like the French Revolutionary Jacobin movement. They don’t trust any customs. They don’t honor any laws. Everything is fluid.”
