Georgia Bulldogs player reacts to ‘crazy’ second snub by White House

The Georgia Bulldogs college football team has won back-to-back national championships and for the second straight year has been snubbed by the Biden White House.

Championship teams from both the collegiate level and the pro level traditionally received a White House invitation, but last year the Bulldogs were sacked by COVID-19-related safety precautions. As for this year, while an invitation has yet to be extended there is time for a reactionary Biden administration to rectify the problem.

Which is not to say that the team didn’t celebrate at the state level, with a parade being held in Athens.

A bipartisan effort requesting a White House appearance for the champion Bulldogs featured U.S. Rep. Earl LeRoy “Buddy” Carter (R) joining with Democratic Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in signing off on a letter.

“The Georgia Bulldogs, led by Head Coach Kirby Smart, completed a historic season in which they accomplished a 15-0 record and won their second National Championship in the same number of years. The 2022-2023 team allowed an average of 14.2 points per game while scoring an incredible 41 points per game,” the letter said.

The players have taken notice, with UGA defensive lineman Warren Brinson taking to Twitter to voice his dissatisfaction.

“No invite to the White House is crazy @POTUS,” Brinson tweeted.

For the record, the Golden State Warriors capped off their 2021-22 NBA championship season with an official visit to the White House last month.

One social media user advised the Dawgs to inform the White House they are from the University of Ukraine… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
