‘Get a life’: Climate extremists ‘brutally dragged’ out of Citi Open tennis match – then dragged online

The climate change activists are at it again, this time forcing security at the Citi Open tennis tournament to drag them out of the stadium.

Climate Defiance, a group that calls for “consistent, mass-turnout, nonviolent disruption,” bragged about the scene they clearly caused on X, claiming for themselves the status of brave, “brutally”-treated warriors.

“BREAKING: we just profoundly disrupted the Citi Open, one of the world’s most prominent tennis tournaments,” the group posted on Friday. “We were brutally dragged out.”

“Multiple members of our group were bloodied up and bruised,” they alleged. “But we will not be deterred. We will fight til we win. There is no alternative.”


The non-profit activist group was founded in March 2023 and focuses on young adults, according to Influence Watch.

“A large amount of its funding comes from Climate Emergency Fund, an organization that funnels money from wealthy liberals such as Abigail Disney and oil heiress Aileen Getty’s Aileen Getty Foundation to environmentalist activist groups, including Sunrise Movement, Extinction Rebellion, and Just Stop Oil,” Influence Watch reveals.

“The group leverages disruptive tactics to protest oil and gas drilling and end leasing for drilling on public lands. They choose events that will have high media attendance to help spread their message,” it continues. “The pledge form to join the movement asks whether a prospective protester would be willing to risk arrest for participating in Climate Defiance activities.”

In the months since its creation, Influence Watch notes, “Climate Defiance has organized several disruptive protests, all opposing fossil fuel drilling on public lands.”

According to Influence Watch, the group runs in the same circles as Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee:

A major part of Climate Defiance’s funding comes from Climate Emergency Fund (CEF), a nonprofit organization that channels money to groups engaged in climate activism. CEF also funds Sunrise Movement, Extinction Rebellion, New York Communities for Change (NYCC), and Just Stop Oil. Donors to Climate Emergency Fund include former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Onward Together, liberal activist Abigail Disney, and oil heiress Aileen Getty’s Aileen Getty Foundation. Getty also sits on the CEF board.

The Climate Defiance donation form and pledge form are published and managed by the Action Network, 20 an open platform for left-of-center organizations that have included the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Women’s March, to recruit, fundraise, and circulate petitions “for progressive causes.”

Despite their deep pockets and liberal connections, the Citi Open stunt was slammed on X, with many users suggesting the security guards weren’t brutal enough.

“Too bad I wasn’t there. I would have helped… dragging you out brutally, that is,” said one user. “Get a life.”

“I’m sorry – you were dragged out nowhere brutally enough,” stated another.

“Ain’t nothing a couple of high pressure fire hoses won’t cure,” a third noted.

Others railed against the group’s tactics.

“They should throw all you criminals in jail, your tactics don’t get people to support your cause actually it’s the opposite and they end up hating you and your cause!” fumed one user. “Imposing your will by disrupting other peoples lives is disgusting!”

“Y’all are clowns,” said another. “Get a hobby, like idk, figuring out how your ideas are sustainable.”
