The radically left-wing state of Washington is reportedly investigating a 15-year-old teen girl who refused to compete against a biological boy.
The story began on Feb. 6th, when Tumwater High School (TSD) basketball player Frances Staudt refused to play because the opposing team featured a so-called “transgender” player named Andi Rooks.
According to a legal complaint against the school filed on Staudt’s behalf by the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR), when she realized that a boy was playing on the other team, she raised concerns with principal Zach Suderman and athletic director Jordan Magrath.
“Citing a Washington Interscholastic Activities Association policy that allows athletes to play on the team that aligns with their ‘gender identity,’ both Suderman and Magrath rejected Ms. Staudt’s plea to either remove the male or stop the game entirely,” the complaint reads.
Suderman even mocked her mother, asking her, “Are you telling me that your daughter will never get knocked down or potentially injured by someone bigger, stronger and faster than she is while playing sports?”

With no options left, Staudt decided to not participate in the game. But as she watched the game unfold from the sidelines, she grew horrified at what she saw and began once again asking school officials to either remove the boy from the game or just cancel it altogether.
School officials refused and instead chose to launch an investigation into Staudt for having allegedly “misgendered” Rooks. According to FAIR, they also came after her brother.
“When her 13-year-old brother attempted to take a video of the basketball game, just as several other spectators in the gymnasium were, a TSD employee threatened him by saying, ‘You better think twice about that,'” the complaint notes.
Staudt’s family has since filed a civil rights complaint against the school.
Appearing this week on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” Staudt and her mother, Aimee, claimed that this whole situation could have been prevented.
“They [the school district] could have avoided this happening,” Aimee told Fox News’ Steve Doocy. “They knew, admittedly, that there was going to be this situation, and they had a meeting, the principal, the superintendent, and the athletic director to discuss the fact that this was a potential situation that was coming up.”

As for the so-called “misgendering,” Aimee claimed it happened during a moment of emotional frustration.
“When [Frances] was leaving, she was so mad, she felt like she had been exposed, and it was just a terrible situation,” the mother explained. “She walked by and said that ‘you’re a man.’ She was so frustrated in the situation, and that is why she has been now charged with bullying, harassment, and intimidation for misgendering this person.”
Then when her daughter later spoke out about what happened on social media, she was accosted with hate (as in ACTUAL hate) and threats.
Aimee now suspects that had the families of the girls who participated in the Feb. 6th game been told beforehand about the transgender player and been allowed to opt out of playing, then there would have been no issue.
“But they didn’t do that,” she said. “They put the kids on the spot, and my daughter was the one that actually stood up in this situation, and… she was exposed… It was awful the way they handled it.”

Now, in fairness to the transgender player, they told a podcast host that they would have skipped the game if they’d been aware of the other students’ concerns.
“If any other person or player I’m playing against is like, ‘I don’t feel comfortable with this,’ I don’t mind sitting out,” Rooks told podcast host Brandie Kruse.

The good news is that changes are happening FAST. Indeed, on Thursday of this week, the Tumwater School District’s Board of Directors voted to ban “transgender girl” players from competing in girls’ sports.
