Giuliani jokes with Newsmax host, vows to appeal after being ordered to pay $148M to two GA election workers

Rudy Giuliani may have lost nearly $150 million, but he hasn’t lost his sense of humor.

America’s Mayor was ordered by a Washington, D.C. jury on Friday to fork over $148,169,000 million to former Georgia 2020 election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, for accusing them of fraud. An additional $270,00 must go to cover Freeman and Moss’s legal fees.

“You got any money you can loan me?” Giuliani asked Newsmax host Greg Kelly following the ruling.

As BizPac Review reported, U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee, issued a default judgment against Giuliani in August, finding him liable for defamation, civil conspiracy, and emotional distress after he “refused to comply with his discovery obligations.”

The embattled former Trump attorney conceded that the claims he made against Freeman and Moss were false in a July court filing, but he insisted that the remarks are “constitutionally protected.”

“How can you not be so sad for the country?” Giuliani asked Kelly. “Here I am in the District of Columbia. The first time I came here, I had goosebumps. I’m gonna leave here thinking that this District of Columbia is a fascist court.”

Giuliani noted that a complaint has been filed against Judge Howell “for unethical behavior.”

“I didn’t know she had given this speech in which she talked about the January 6 defendants and, really, about Donald Trump,” he said. “Big lies. And she’s also the one who got very upset when the January 6 defendants weren’t getting enough sentences as far as she was concerned, and she upbraided the prosecutors and said, ‘the sentences should be heavier.'”

“That’s not a role for a judge,” Guiliani continued. “I knew when she was assigned to the case, I knew we were dead. I didn’t realize we were that dead.”

“Do you realize that I never got a chance to put in a single bit of evidence in defense?” he pointed out. “My viability was based on the fact that I didn’t completely comply with discovery, and I turned over thousands of documents and I sat for a deposition. I did not take the Fifth Amendment. At most, there should have been sanctions.”

Meanwhile, Moss, speaking outside the courthouse, claimed, “the past few years has been devastating.”

“The flame that Giuliani lit with those lies and passed to so many others to keep that flame blazing changed every aspect of our lives, our home family, our work, our sense of safety and mental health,” she said. “And we’re still working to rebuild as we move forward and continue to seek justice.”

“Our greatest wish is that no one, no election worker or voter or school board member or anyone else ever experiences anything like what we went through,” she added.

According to Giuliani, the amount of money that was awarded to Freeman and Moss is “absurd.”

“Probably, the money reflects the absurdity of the way the judge conducted the trial,” he explained. “Also, the lawyers here were Biden lawyers. These women could not have afforded these lawyers. Is it a coincidence that the chief lawyer worked with Hunter Biden and represented the crooked Burisma?”

“Why do you think they’re coming after me?” he asked. “Because, if it wasn’t for me, nobody would know about Joe Biden.”

Giuliani declined to comment on the mother-daughter duo but did say in a statement to Newsmax, “The absurdity of the amount is indicative of the absurdity and unfairness of the entire proceeding.”

“We’ll have more to say and look forward to the appeal,” the statement read.

To Kelly, the former mayor said that “this is way beyond” Moss and Freeman.

“And my desire to move on with this case, it’s really to save the Republic,” he added.

Speaking outside the courthouse on Friday, Giuliani said, “I am quite confident when this case gets before a fair tribunal, it will be reversed so quickly, it’ll make your head spin and the absurd number that just came in will help that, actually.”
