Globetrotting Gavin usurps Trump’s authority, inks climate agreement with Brits

President Donald J. Trump slammed Gavin Newsom after the California governor signed a green energy deal with the British government, usurping his authority as he positions himself for a 2028 White House run.

Newsom was among the Democrats who traveled across the pond to attend the Munich Security Conference, where they pandered to European leaders and railed against the president of their own country. In the globetrotting governor’s case, it was more than just hot air from a man who would reimpose the Biden regime’s Green New Deal policies on his first day in power if elected.

Newsom and UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net-Zero Ed Miliband signed the memorandum deepening cooperation on climate change between the Brits and California in London on Monday after wowing the Euros at Munich.

“The UK’s got enough trouble without getting involved with Gavin Newscum,” Trump told Politico in an interview. “Gavin is a loser. Everything he’s touched turns to garbage. His state has gone to hell, and his environmental work is a disaster.”

Newsom also dropped by clean energy firm Octopus Energy, which is committing $1 billion in “clean tech investment” to the Golden State.

It is “inappropriate” for Newsom to make such deals and “inappropriate for them [the UK] to be dealing with him,” Trump added.

“California is the best place in America to invest in a clean economy because we set clear goals and we deliver. Today, we deepened our partnership with the United Kingdom on climate action and welcomed nearly a billion dollars in clean tech investment from Octopus Energy. California will continue showing the world how we can turn innovation and ambition into climate action,” Newsom said in a press release announcing the agreement.

“At a time when communities worldwide are experiencing the consequences of climate change—higher costs, extreme weather, and wildfires—this partnership underscores the need to accelerate innovation and invest in solutions that save lives,” the press release read.

“Donald Trump is temporary,” Newsom told his fawning European admirers in Munich. “He’ll be gone in three years. California is a stable and reliable partner in this space. It’s important for folks to understand the temporary nature of this administration in relationship to the issue of climate change and climate policy.”

Responding to Trump’s criticism of the governor, a spokesperson for Newsom told Fox News Digital: “Donald Trump is on his knees for coal and Big Oil, selling out America’s future to China.”

“Governor Newsom will continue to lead in his absence. Foreign leaders are rejecting Trump and choosing California’s vision for the future,” the spokesperson said.
