The firebrand press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has reportedly resigned her position to join the popular Republican governor’s re-election campaign.
Christina Pushaw, who announced that she would be stepping down in a letter, will serve as Director of Rapid Response for the DeSantis campaign.
She detailed a number of accomplishments in her resignation letter, beginning with “protecting the rights of citizens to earn a living, gather to worship and celebrate life’s milestones, and raise their children free of unconstitutional mandates.”
“I am proud to have been part of a team that has helped Floridians through historic challenges, and continues to deliver results that make life better for people of this great state,” Pushaw wrote.
True to her feisty character, she responded to a tweeted copy of her resignation letter to say: “Now, the gloves are off.”

The idea that the gloves are just now coming off is surely bad news for the liberal media, as Pushaw has been relentless in challenging their agenda-driven reporting on DeSantis.
A recent example of Pushaw giving no quarter to compromised journalists took place this week when she instructed Associated Press reporter David Klepper to “lose my number” after he failed to respect her request that her full quote be included in an AP story that misrepresented Florida’s parental rights law as the “Don’t Say Gay law,” while suggesting it was responsible for fueling anti-LGBTQ hatred online.
“Here is my statement to American Pravda. I expressly instructed the journactivist to print it in full. Of course, he didn’t. Last time I ever talk to the AP. Lose my number, David,” she tweeted.

Pushaw’s resignation letter can be seen in its entirety below:
Bryan Griffin, who had been serving as Deputy Press Secretary, will be taking Pushaw’s place and vowed to keep Gov. DeSantis’ voice amplified.
It has been an honor to work with and learn from @ChristinaPushaw. I look forward to serving @GovRonDeSantis and the people of Florida in this new role. Like Christina did so well, I will ensure the governor's message is amplified and that false narratives are debunked. https://t.co/TIQ8jwGxCL
