GOP lawmaker offers resolution for Kamala to invoke the 25th Amendment to boot Biden

A House Republican introduced a resolution to address the Joe Biden problem, calling for the rapidly fading octogenarian to be removed through the use of the 25th Amendment.

In a peculiar turn of events, Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) who has strongly opposed his fellow GOP lawmakers’ efforts to impeach Biden over alleged corruption and foreign bribery seems to have had a change of heart on ousting the deeply unpopular leader.

“President Biden has proven that he is no longer fit for office. His cognitive decline and lack of mental stamina has been both public and undeniable. I call on Biden’s Cabinet to constitutionally remove him from office, using the 25th Amendment,” he wrote on X, sharing a Fox News report on his resolution.

“Calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to convene and mobilize the principal officers of the executive departments of the Cabinet to activate section 4 of the 25th Amendment to declare President Joseph R. Biden incapable of executing the duties of his office and to immediately exercise powers as Acting President,” the resolution reads.

Buck’s decision to call on Biden’s veep to give her boss the boot comes after Special Counsel Robert Hur’s devastating report on the mishandling of classified material that essentially found that the 81-year-old president was too senile to stand trial.

The report, which drew a furious backlash from Biden and his surrogates, stated that a jury would likely find him to be “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” who would likely present himself that way in court as “he did during our interview of him,” a description that only confirms the perception of voters that he’s too old and mentally feeble for a second term.

Buck’s resolution lists a number of incidences in which Biden became confused and, while hardly a complete account of his senior moments, gaffes, cognitive foibles, and misremembering things that would be book-length, it highlights some of the more recent examples that have drawn attention, one being the disastrous press conference called by Biden to push back against the special counsel when he only confirmed the findings.

“Whereas, on February 8, 2024, during a White House press conference, President Joseph R. Biden reassured reporters that his memory was fine and then referred to Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as the President of Mexico,” the resolution reads.

“Numerous instances were articulated in the report, and have played out in full public view, showing President Biden’s apparent cognitive decline and lack of mental stamina,” Rep. Buck told Fox News Digital.

“The societal challenges and security threats our country faces are innumerable and require a chief executive with both strong mental and physical faculties,” he added. “The time has come for the vice president and the Cabinet to put our country first and move forward on invoking the 25th Amendment.”
