Amid the chorus of criticism of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance over the Iran deal, one GOP senator has been vocal in their defense.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville insisted in a Fox Business interview that Americans should have confidence in the president and vice president, noting that despite Iran’s “awful” track record, Trump and Vance should be trusted.
Host Larry Kudlow noted that Iran has to “prove” itself despite the agreement with the U.S. to end the war.
“Now, maybe this is not the right language,” he told Tuberville of the text of the circulated 14-point memo. “That’s a possibility. We don’t have the right language, because they have to prove to us, do they not, that their behavior is changing? And of course they have a terrible track record.”

“Well, they don’t have a track record,” the Alabama Republican responded. “They’re awful. They’re batting 1,000% at lying to us every time they do some kind of deal. But I trust President Trump. I trust Vice President Vance. We don’t need to listen to anybody up here on Capitol Hill. Let’s trust these two, and they have been at this now since they’ve been in office.”
“Thank God we have a dealmaker in the White House who ALWAYS puts America’s best interests first,” the senator wrote in a social media post, responding to Trump’s message about the completed deal.
