Embattled Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was confronted by a group of GOP senators at the Republican National Convention after her agency nearly got former President Donald J. Trump killed.
Cheatle has become the poster gal for America’s growing competency crisis after numerous inexplicable failures led to an assassination attempt on the soon-to-be Republican nominee at a Pennsylvania rally over the weekend and on Wednesday, the senators wanted answers.

The former PepsiCo security director had earlier participated in a “cover-your-a** call” with senators about the shooting but some lawmakers were shut out with their questions. They followed up with the tight-lipped Biden regime official at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
Rather than answer, Cheatle instead fled through the corridors of Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum with the senators in hot pursuit.
In the video which was posted to social media, the group led by Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), John Barrasso (R-WY), James Lankford (R-OK), and Kevin Cramer (R-ND) surrounded Cheatle and peppered her with questions about how her agency came within an inch or two of allowing the first assassination of a major party candidate since 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was gunned down.

“This was an assassination attempt. You owe the people answers. You owe President Trump answers,” Blackburn told Cheatle in the video.
“Every one of us had questions that we wanted to ask. We thought we didn’t get any of the responses that were necessary,” Barrasso said. “Either you resign tonight or start answering our questions right now about the death threat to President Trump and allowing him to go on stage.”
“You put him within less than an inch of his life,” Barrasso yelled at the fleeing bureaucrat. “So resignation or full explanation.”
“I don’t think that this is the forum to have this discussion,” Cheatle is heard saying in response to Blackburn’s questions. “This hospitality suite is actually to thank the partners who have helped secure the Republican National Convention.”
Barasso and Blackburn were both unhappy that they didn’t get to ask their questions during an earlier conference call with Cheatle and FBI Director Christopher Wray.
“We were trying to get to the root of what had happened, how the shooter was on the roof by himself and able to get off the shots,” Barrasso said, according to the Daily Mail, describing the tightly controlled remote meeting as a “cover-your-a** call.”
“She ran up a flight of steps, and we were up with her,” the Wyoming Republican said. “And it looked like she then went into a ladies’ room and her own security closed the door and blocked the door.”
While the administration has tightly controlled access to Cheatle, they did make her available for an interview with one of their friendly media outlets, Disney-owned ABC.

Despite the astonishing degree of incompetence on display during the now infamous Butler, PA rally, Cheatle has refused to resign, and her boss, Joe Biden hasn’t fired her.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Cheatle “has no intentions to step down” when asked about her refusing to answer the Republican senators at the convention.
“She deeply respects members of Congress and is fiercely committed to transparency in leading the Secret Service through the internal investigation and strengthening the agency through lessons learned in these important internal and external reviews,” the agency spox added.
