Gutfeld on Dems’ new spending bill: ‘Media are just dying to say something positive about Joe’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld nailed it Monday while commenting on the media’s treatment of President Joe Biden — a man who would almost certainly not be in office but for the media.

Focusing on the Democratic Party’s new spending bill, the ostensibly named “Inflation Reduction Act,” which earmarks $369 billion for climate change and, according to the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation, will raise taxes on the middle class, Gutfeld noted the double standard at play.

“I love how the media are just dying to say something positive about Joe. ‘Oh, my goodness. He had a good week. He passed something other than gas.’ Seriously, I almost expect him to say, like, ‘Oh, look, he made a boom, boom and he flushed,'” the comedian quipped. “You know, it’s so pathetic and it’s the opposite of Trump, where they would do anything possible not to say something nice even when he passes like a historic foreign policy bill. The problem with all the spending is it’s basically now printing. Right?”

Many experts say the legislation will likely do little to curb rising prices, and a preliminary analysis by the Penn Wharton Budget Model, an independent research group, said that the bill would “very slightly increase inflation” for the first few years, according to CNN.

“I mean, we’re just basically churning out dollars and it makes sense because we have an incredible shrinking president with an incredible shrinking dollar and it’s a race to see who becomes molecular,” Gutfeld observed. “I keep thinking, you know, you could probably at this point fold up Joe and put him in Tyrus’ wallet.”

Democrats have little to hang their hats on going into the midterm elections, where the party is widely believed to be in for a shellacking, and the deal reached between Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on the “Inflation Reduction Act” will help their cause.

For those curious about why the moderate Democrat suddenly caved to more wasteful spending amid 40-year high inflation after taking a resolute stand for fiscal sanity in the face of tremendous pressure from his own party, Manchin offered a clue Monday when he shared a Three Alarm tweet promoting a local news story that he has  “secured” a $1.2 billion commitment from Biden, Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi to complete the Mountain Valley Pipeline in West Virginia.
