Harris-Biden admin stonewalling collusion probe, House Oversight Chair says

A probe into alleged “collusion” left a congressional committee chair decrying Vice President Kamala Harris and the ATF for “stonewalling” the investigation.

The passing of a Wednesday deadline to respond to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee left committee Chair Kentucky Rep. James Comer (R) finding fault with the Biden-Harris administration and the former prosecutor in particular.

After seeking information from the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention overseen by the onetime top cop of California as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on their alleged “colluding” with a gun-grabbing group founded by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the Oversight chair spoke to the severity of the issue with Fox News Digital.

“The American people should be very concerned that, rather than prosecuting criminals, the Biden-Harris White House is colluding with anti-Second Amendment groups, and rather than responding to serious congressional requests with transparency, the White House is choosing to not comply with our request,” said Comer.

The Kentucky lawmaker added, “The White House’s Office of Gun Violence Prevention, overseen by Vice President Harris, is stonewalling the Oversight Committee’s investigation into potential collusion by White House officials with anti-Second Amendment groups despite our multiple requests.”

Comer’s investigation focused on a lawsuit brought by Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety in Chicago against Glock, Inc. that aimed to fault the manufacturer for producing “easily converted pistols” that could be adapted into fully automatic weapons using illegal after-market parts.

According to the committee’s investigation, the White House met with Glock representatives to seek a change to the pistol designs, and the same day that the lawsuit had been filed, Everytown president John Feinblatt posted to X, “Federal officials recently contacted Glock to discuss implementing new ways to modify Glock pistols to make it harder for Glock switches to be installed. Rather than help, Glock falsely insisted there is nothing they can do.”

“Because this was a private meeting between Glock and the White House,” Comer said in a June 14 letter to Stefanie Feldman, director of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, “Mr. Feinblatt seemed to have inside access to the White House meeting which raises questions about collusion with your Office.”

In addition to the lack of cooperation from the White House, the chair called out the ATF for failing to provide material as he told Fox News Digital, “The committee has also failed to receive documents requested from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives related to its communication with the White House.”

Recently, Everytown’s efforts expanded beyond mere gun control as they joined with Planned Parenthood in promoting a bill from congressional Democrats vying to impose term limits on Supreme Court justices.

While he did not specify what actions would be taken, Comer insisted, “We are not going to allow the White House to get away with ignoring these requests and will continue to ensure accountability.”

For their part, after the chair had made the case that ATF agents and officers in the Chicago Police Department were among those who favored the use of Glocks as their “primary sidearm,” the City of Chicago and Everytown requested the dismissal of their original complaint before refiling to include two gun stores and Glock-related companies.
