Harris whines Roe v Wade overturn got more media coverage than ‘strength of my leadership’

Vice President Kamala Harris ironically went to the mainstream media to complain that they do not cover her enough or focus on her “strength of leadership,” and whined that the overturning of the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade got more coverage than she does.

In an epic display of an utter lack of self-awareness, Harris did a pandering interview with a Washington Post columnist named Jonathan Capehart who wrote a hilariously titled opinion piece called, “Kamala Harris had a most excellent year.” It did not escape notice that she’s complaining about the media to the media and making it all about her once again.

“There are things that I’ve done as vice president that fully demonstrate the strength of my leadership as vice president that have not received the kind of coverage that I think Dobbs did receive,” Harris carped at Capehart, referring to the Supreme Court decision while tooting her own horn.

“What you’ve been able to see,” she stated, is “based on what gets covered.”

Capehart’s sycophantic piece refers to three supposed “tent poles” of her alleged wondrous year.

“President Biden’s electoral right-hand ma’am is finishing a banner year filled with domestic barnstorming and high-wire diplomacy,” he drooled.

The leftist reporter pointed out Harris’ appearance at the Munich Security Conference in February just before Russia invaded Ukraine. Capehart left out the part where the vice president told reporters that Europe had enjoyed “peace and security” since the end of World War II. She was dragged for that piece of bad timing and lack of historical context.

The remark, according to critics, ignored the 40-year Soviet occupation of Eastern Europe, the violent breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, Russia’s invasion of Georgia in 2008, and the annexation of Crimea in 2014. Details.

Then the WaPo columnist touted Harris’ response to the leak from the Supreme Court concerning the overturning of Roe v. Wade. She ostensibly told her staff, “I’m getting the bleep out of DC” and proceeded to tour the country spewing propaganda in favor of reproductive rights.

Unfortunately for Harris, die-hard leftists didn’t see her strength on the matter either. The Biden administration was roundly attacked for what many saw as a weak response to the overturning of the abortion mandate at the federal level. One Democrat member of Congress told CNN the response was “rudderless, aimless, and hopeless.”

Harris even admitted to Vanity Fair that she was basically caught off guard over the Dobbs ruling.

“I was like, they bleep did it,” she told her husband according to the outlet. “I was so upset.”

“Harris is right about that. Despite having a television and a print pool reporter at most of her public events, the vice president garners little attention. Sometimes the office is frustrating — as one of her predecessors famously put it, ‘not worth a bucket of warm, ‘um, spit,'” Capehart wrote, taking a shot at his colleagues in the media.

“And much of the attention she has received, especially in her first year, has been rough. Stories about staff departures were routinely hyped as disarray in narratives that unfairly called into question Harris’ competence,” he added.

From the very beginning, many have called Harris incompetent, especially when she gives word salad responses or fails to address her non-handling of the catastrophe on the southern border.

NewsBusters found that ABC, CBS, and NBC under-covered the departures of 12 “major” Harris staffers between June 2021 and April 2022. That gives the appearance they are providing cover for the vice president to tamp down negative coverage.

“As they exited, the number of times their names have been mentioned on the networks? ZERO,” Newsbusters noted in its report.

Then the reporter threw the obligatory race card into the mix of whining, “[T]he nation’s first Black female and first South Asian vice president has also had to contend with the negative reactions and low expectations that come with shattering ossified notions of who should be in the position.”

Capehart’s column also  failed to mention Harris’ non-involvement at the border after President Biden assigned her the task of addressing the “root causes” of illegal immigration or that Biden was annoyed with Harris, reportedly calling her a “work in progress.”

It’s not that Harris doesn’t get coverage… it’s that it is not very flattering due to apparent incompetence on her part. That doesn’t take into account the media censoring negative news concerning the vice president.
