Thanks to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, President Joe Biden finally sort of uttered Laken Riley’s name during his State of the Union address.
As the president spoke late Thursday, he began scolding Republicans for refusing to pass a supposedly “bipartisan” border bill that would have done little to secure the border. In response, Greene heckled him, shouting, “Laken Riley!”
To the president’s credit, he then finally — after weeks of ignoring Riley’s death — addressed it publicly, though he said her first name wrong.
“Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal. To her parents, I say my heart goes out to you having lost children myself. I understand,” he said.
Listen:
Joe Biden’s policies killed Laken Riley.
He finally tried to say her name, but couldn’t even say it correctly.

As the president uttered Riley’s name, he held up a pin commemorating her that he’d been handed earlier by Greene.
Biden had been walking through the gallery shaking hands when the congresswoman handed him the pin and urged him to say Riley’s name.

Joe Biden has no excuse.

To Biden’s credit again, notice how, when addressing Riley in the first video, he correctly referred to her killer as an “illegal.”
This, ironically enough, prompted backlash from the radicalized left, with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi leading the charge.
“He should have said undocumented. … We usually say undocumented. He said illegal,” she told CNN after the conclusion of the address.
Listen:
Other Democrats were far less kind.
“It’s dangerous rhetoric. And I think that the president is getting bad advice from his advisers and speech writers. That kind of rhetoric is what inspired the people who killed Aaron Martinez,” U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro said to The Texas Tribune.
“I just don’t get why the president will go down that road. I don’t think it’s helpful to him or to the Democratic Party,” he continued.
Martinez was a North Texas man who was murdered by his neighbor who, according to the Tribune, had harassed his family over their Latin ethnicity and heritage.
Rep. Veronica Escobar, another rabid Democrat, added that the term “illegal” was “statutory language.”
“It’s not the language I use,” she said.
Not surprisingly, neither she, Castro, nor other complaining Democrats had anything to say about Riley or her death.
Let me be clear: No human being is illegal.

Now, in fairness to them, Biden did violate his own administration’s rules in using the correct term “illegal.”
“It’s … a term that the Biden administration itself has warned against using,” according to Fox News. “In 2021, a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) memo urged officials to refer to ‘undocumented individual’ or ‘undocumented noncitizen’ rather than ‘illegal alien.'”
“This change is designed to encourage more inclusive language in the agency’s outreach efforts, internal documents and in overall communication with stakeholders, partners, and the general public,” an administration spokesperson said at the time.
Dovetailing back to Biden’s speech, the rest of it, as critics noted, was filled with lies.
“In November, my team began serious negotiations with a bipartisan group of senators. The result was a bipartisan bill with the toughest set of border security reforms we’ve ever seen in this country,” he said at one point. “It’d be a winner for America. My Republican friends, you owe it to the American people to get this bill done.”
Liar!
H.R. 2, a separate bill conceived by House Republicans, contains far tougher border security reforms than the “bipartisan” bill.
Unlike the “bipartisan” bill, H.R. 2 would actually resolve the border crisis by purging the workforce of illegal alien migrants, tightening asylum eligibility requirements, building additional border fortifications, and much, much more.
SOTU FACT CHECK:
Biden says “send me the border bill now.”
Fine Mr. President, tell Chuck Schumer to take up H.R. 2 tonight.

The whole speech was, in fact, riddled with lies.
Case in point:
Biden mentions RFK assassination & how affected him but yet refuses RFK Jr Secret Service protection.
What a freaking lying phony.— Sean Parnell (@SeanParnellUSA) March 8, 2024
Apparently my parents are watching the SOTU in Spanish and called me to share their shock at Biden saying “the economy has never been as good as it is now.” They decided to shut off the tv after that, “he’s just lying to us while we’re struggling here.”
