HIV-positive youth baseball coach held at gunpoint by mom of 12-yr-old girl he allegedly raped

An Oklahoma mother showed remarkable “restraint,” according to many on social media when she held the HIV-positive youth baseball coach she believes repeatedly raped her 12-year-old daughter at gunpoint rather than “accidentally” discharging the weapon “at a lower limb once or twice”

According to police, the mother discovered 39-year-old Donovan Sheppard raping her daughter in the home they shared on Jan. 13, the Kansas City Star reported.

Sheppard, who had for years been coaching local kids on a team called the Oklahoma Aftermath, informed the police that he was HIV positive and said he wasn’t wearing a condom when he was raping the little girl — a heinous act he began committing when the girl was eleven, police said.

The mother called the cops and held Sheppard at gunpoint until they arrived, according to the authorities.

Court records reveal the horrifying details.

“He raped me,” the young girl told authorities in an interview. She said he’d done it six times, including on her 12th birthday.

Police said Sheppard was living with the mother and his alleged victim at the time of the incident, KFOR reports, citing an affidavit. On Jan. 13, the mother picked him up from a bar after he had gotten into a fight. When they returned to the house, the girl was sleeping.

The mother reportedly awoke to Sheppard sexually assaulting her daughter in the girl’s bedroom, according to the affidavit.

“Sheppard was arrested and sent to Cleveland County Jail,” according to KFOR.

He was charged with eight felonies, including Lewd Molestation; Rape by Instrumentation; three counts of Rape, First Degree of a minor under 14; Exposing others to AIDs; Pattern of Criminal Offenses; and Lewd Molestation.

One way or another, predicted many, the suspect will face justice.

According to KFOR, “Sheppard also has a bond, per records, of $500,000.”
