Leftist antics in so-called sanctuary cities could prove the undoing of their open border battle as Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin touted a plan involving airports.

On the job for a little more than two months, the former Oklahoma senator is exploring alternative paths to contend with the globalist antics permitted, advanced, and celebrated by Democrats across the country. With a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in New Jersey in the spotlight, Mullin explained to Fox News host Sean Hannity how DHS is “drawing up” plans to halt international flights to cities shirking and impeding federal laws.
Discussing the Delaney Hall facility in Newark, New Jersey, on Fox News’ “Hannity” Tuesday, the head of DHS raised the matter of the non-response from state and local law enforcement over protesters — allegedly including members of Antifa — barricading the streets.
“If they’re going to not allow us … to go out and arrest the worst of the worst, and then when we call for assistance at the facilities, that the street, it belongs to the city — if it belonged to us, we would take care of it, but it belongs to the city — and they’re barricading our employees from coming in and out of the facility, then why are we processing international flights into the airport there?” wondered Mullin.
Informing Hannity that he was in talks with the White House, the secretary went on, “We are currently, which we’re not initiating it yet, but we’re currently drawing up plans to say, listen, in these sanctuary cities where the local, radical left Democrats aren’t allowing us to do our job and enforce federal laws, then we shouldn’t be processing international flights into their cities either because: They don’t want us to enforce immigration, but they want us to process immigration at their facilities? Nothing about that makes sense to me.”
Roughly two weeks after taking over for now-former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, Mullin has made a point about considering a change in policy about international flights landing in uncooperative Democrat strongholds, especially in light of the opposition to funding ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Putting the radical opposition in perspective, Hannity asked the secretary about the volume of violent criminals counted among the illegal aliens that the likes of New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) and New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim (D) made a point of speaking up for — allegedly earning the latter pepper spray to the face as a consolation prize — amid a detainee hunger strike.
To that, Mullin contended, “We have arrested thousands, tens of thousands. Gang members that are in categories of terrorists. We have arrested known terrorists. Just in this facility alone, we have child rapists, we have sexual assault, we have murderers, we have drug traffickers … and they are sitting in this facility right now.”
