A House Democrat previously called out over a real-time exchange with Jeffrey Epstein was left with more explaining to do after the latest document release named her “hundreds of times.”
Late last week, the Justice Department’s release of an additional 3.5 million pages of documents related to the late convicted sex offender had corporate and social media alike scouring the files for high-profile names and smoking guns. While leftist hopes to discover something damning about the president were quashed, there were ample references to the Virgin Islands’ non-voting Del. Stacey Plaskett (D).
According to a review of the files by the outlet NOTUS, Plaskett, who had Epstein as a constituent, appeared “hundreds of times” in the latest release, including in an email exchange that preceded her congressional tenure.
Beginning on Aug. 11, 2014, attorney Erika Kellerhals started an email chain with Epstein Assistant Lesley Groff to set up a 30-minute meeting with Plaskett. By Aug. 14, 2014, Plasket was asked, “Hello Stacey, just circling back…will you be able to meet with Jeffrey on his island on Monday, Aug. 18th at 11 am? Erika, if Stacey is available for this, will you be going as well? Wasn’t sure.”
She replied, “Sorry, I thought I responded yes, I will be available. Please share details on time and transportation to Jeffrey.”
The following day, plans were changed for Plaskett to meet Epstein “at the office rather than on the island” because of scheduling constraints.
Similarly, a 2016 email from Groff suggested routine communication between the delegate and convicted sex offender, as the assistant said, “Jeffrey has tried for you a few times on your cell but has been unsuccessful.”
“Thanks. Spoke with him,” the delegate responded within minutes.
As had been reported, Plaskett had previously been called out over a text exchange with Epstein that was shown to have taken place during a 2019 House Oversight Committee hearing, where, prior to questioning former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, Epstein had messaged, “Cohen brought up RONA — keeper of the secrets.”
“RONA?? Quick I’m up next is that an acronym,” she replied before it was explained that he meant former Trump Executive Assistant Rhona Graff, moments before the delegate mentioned her in questioning Cohen.
In attempting to defend the exchange, Plaskett had insisted, “Let me tell you something, I don’t need to get advice on how to question anybody from any individual. I have been a lawyer for 30 years,” having suggested it wasn’t out of the ordinary to get a message from a constituent before a vote to censure her failed.

Of course, other references to the delegate in the files suggested closer ties than merely that of a constituent and representative, as the New York Post highlighted how, later the same year as the hearing, Plaskett received a happy birthday message from Epstein.
The financier reminded how she told him the date when she was in his office, leading her to respond, “You’re good.”
“No, I’m bad, but I’m thoughtful,” responded Epstein.
The Post also detailed how Plaskett had sought contributions from Epstein, inviting him to a 2017 fundraiser along with now-House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). In November 2025, Jeffries insisted to CNN, “I’ve never had a conversation with [Epstein], never met him, know nothing about him other than the extreme things that he’s been convicted of doing.”
