Hulu, owned by Disney, slammed with calls to boycott over ‘The 1619 Project’

Disney is facing more criticism over the “woke” direction that the once family-friendly entertainment colossus has taken in recent years as one of the most influential purveyors of the toxic left-wing propaganda that is polluting young minds and poisoning American culture.

The latest issue with critics is the adaptation of the controversial “1619 Project,” a revisionist retelling of the nation’s history through the eyes of the New York Times’ Nikole Hannah-Jones that bastardizes the truth to reimagine the United States as a white supremacist country that was built upon the backs of black slaves, a racist legacy that continues to exist to this day in a series of essays that has been instrumental in the promulgation of Critical Race Theory.

In the six-part series airing on the Disney-owned Hulu streaming service which was executive produced by billionaire talk show mogul Oprah Winfrey, the race-obsessed Jones intersperses the rebooted version of the nation’s history with her own, including her experience growing up in Iowa as the child of a white mother and black father, drawing criticism from some who canceled their subscriptions over the series’ “dishonesty” and “lack of facts” that make it “unbearable” to watch.

The series is getting deservedly ripped for its distorted version of the past which is being marketed as ‘The greatest story never told.”

That claim was recently mocked by New York Post politics and culture writer Jon Levine as “Never told, except literally nonstop for years!” and the “1619 Project” itself was described by former GOP Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich as a “propaganda campaign on race” and a “terrific set-up for a later demand for reparations.”

Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the  Hoover Institution summed it up that Jones simply “does not care about the truth.”

Others who are highly critical of Hulu’s treatment of the New York Times’ prized product include conservative commentator Erick Erickson who accused Hulu of “advancing the race based revisionist lies about the United States.”

But “The 1619 Project” has received nearly unanimous praise from a media that has come to be dominated by leftists who have leveraged their influence to ensure that the false narrative that America’s founding principles were racism and slavery would find its way into the nation’s classrooms and to saturate popular culture, making Nikole Hannah-Jones a very wealthy woman in the process.

Twitter reacted to Disney/Hulu’s race propaganda.

“For all of you out there that are paying to get Hulu, congratulations You will shortly be able to see a 6 part series justifying the 1619 project. Yea. I know. More woke BS from the liberal ‘entertainment’ industry. I already cancelled Hulu,” wrote one former Hulu subscriber.

Another Twitter user described the series as “cringe” and “unbearable.”

“Why is Hulu producing this when the 1619 project was full of lies and dishonesty, not to mention the outright racism,” asked another user.

Additional reactions included calls to boycott Hulu as well as criticism of Disney.

The docuseries debuted on January 28 and is yet another feather in “woke” Disney’s Pinocchio cap.
