Scenes from a Seattle homeless encampment are so disturbing that they became a trending topic on social media.
A homeless site in South Seattle has reportedly grown since mid-2025 across public and private land, raising serious environmental and safety concerns.
Residents reportedly had welcomed a “tiny homes” site meant to house the homeless, with a promise from the city that encampments wouldn’t be allowed nearby. In April, residents were complaining that the city wasn’t keeping its word.

Fast forward to today, the encampment area is larger, with seemingly no real plan to end the expansion.
Jeremy Harris with KOMO News reported on the “humanitarian and environmental disaster,” saying the city plans to “monitor and watch” the situation.

Harris’ report drew plenty of attention on X, where former LA Mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt called it Communism. “Communism is like a societal cancer. It just keeps spreading until it becomes impossible to remove, and it always ends the same way,” he said.
A hundred feet away a homeowner is waiting on a permit to remodel a bathroom.

Just a reminder that every single item you see in that camp was stolen from tax payers – either directly through theft/burglary – or indirectly through “social services”

Adding insult to injury, Mary Katharine Ham astutely pointed out that Seattle has a strict tree code that prohibits folks from cutting down trees without approval from proper authorities…and insurance.
The code doesn’t appear to be enforced in the expanding homeless encampment.
It’s “tyranny against the law abiding”…every code is enforced, every penalty is applied, every tax is collected but there are NO rules enforced against the homeless or “Chaz Zone” people.

That code only applies to law abiding citizens. The ones that pay taxes, traffic tickets, permit fees, and obey zoning laws. You know the ones the city taxes the crap out of to support the encampments freeloaders.
